In my latest conversation with Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) on the MeidasTouch Network, we got into everything—from the economic gut punches hitting working-class families under Trump’s failed policies, to the MAGA movement’s brazen betrayal of veterans, and even the GOP’s shady attempt to ram through a crypto bill with what appeared to be a carveout for Trump’s own corrupt dealings.
As Senator Gallego pointed out, Trump voters—especially Latino men—are waking up. They were sold lies about jobs, family, and opportunity. Now they’re watching as Trump floats reopening Alcatraz and praises a dystopia where immigrants have no due process and no trials. Latino support for Trump is cratering, and Gallego made clear why: They’re the first to be fired, last to be hired—and they feel the economic pain first.
When I asked about the economy, Senator Gallego went deeper than Wall Street spin. He laid it out plainly: these aren’t investors watching stock tickers. They’re truckers, factory workers, waiters. And they know exactly when the bottom is falling out. GDP is shrinking, wages are stagnant, and costs are climbing. The “Art of the Deal” can’t pay the rent.
But it gets worse. Trump’s administration isn’t just economically incompetent—it’s outright hostile to the people who’ve served this country. Senator Gallego, a Marine Corps veteran himself, was crystal clear: Trump’s team is the most anti-veteran administration in history. From gutting the VA with unexplained workforce cuts to floating the absurd idea of renaming Veterans Day to “World War II Day,” Gallego didn’t mince words—“how stupid are you to even think about that?”
And then came the crypto grift. Gallego exposed how Republicans tried to force through legislation with exemptions that would’ve let Trump and others self-deal on the sly—profiting off unregulated stablecoins while pretending to protect investors. “You can’t try to f*ck us and say, ‘deal with it,’” Gallego said. That’s the raw truth.
We closed by talking about housing, energy, and the future. Senator Gallego is focused on the real stuff: affordable homes, expanding clean energy, including nuclear, and making government work for people again, not billionaires and meme-coin scammers.
