Dan Osborn was the purist example you could find of a candidate fighting to stand up for the working man (i.e., pipefitter, veteran, no college degree, said he didn't even own a suit). He ran a brilliant campaign as an independent --- yet the folks in Nebraska still returned to office a SuperPAC backed incumbent who hadn't held a town meeting since 2017 and apparently increased her net worth 10 times while in office (per her financial disclosure forms).
A lot of the vote was (1) I always vote Republican, (2) Sexist, racist, anti-LGBTQ, and (3) For "traditional values." And the vast majority of their beliefs driven by right wing lies.
