This moment has been inevitable since the previous Administration did not immediately, on 20 Jan 2021, arrest and prosecute Trump for his attempted overthrow of our Democracy.
His intent was to await the death of Pence or some member of Congress to declare Martial Law and then refuse to leave the White House.
It wasn't the previous administrations fault why trump wasn't immediately charged. The DOJ is supposed to be independent from the potus and allowed to do their jobs without presidential influence. That's called 'weaponization,' which is what trump falsely accused President Biden of doing and exactly what trump is currently doing. Every, single maga accusation is a confession of either their intent or a law(s) that they've already broken.
The real person at fault is Merrick Garland, who was scared to prosecute a sitting president for fear of looking partisan, which was nothing more than a line of horse shit! Garland also sat down with his hands up his ass and waited several years before appointing Jack Smith as Special Counsel, so that #1: Garland could shift trump's blaming and petty and childish wrath from himself to Smith and #2: Garland knew, for a 100% fact that trump would delay and delay and delay some more (his typical MO) until the general election came, with trump unfortunately and sadly winning, which means those cases became DOA!!!
If Garland would have done his damn job IMMEDIATELY, trump would be spending the rest of his wretched life behind bars in a federal prison.
Garland basically gave trump as close to a 'get out of jail free card' as humanly possible and the trump worshipping, maga cultists cashed that card in for trump by voting him to victory.

Garland was such a dismal AG, despite the credentials. He would not have made a good justice either - he equivocated way too much. Law school prof, though he would have driven his students crazy with his mental gymnastics about law.... but then, he would have driven the right wing justices even crazier. I am just wondering how he could have been oblivious to the impact of his dithering about going after Trump. While I don't see him as a closet right winger, his over analysis and failure to pull the trigger on Trump's cases played right into the right's hands.
I would not blame the Biden administration for that. The real problem was that the Republicans in Senate refused to convict Trump on either one of his TWO impeachments. They had a chance then to get out from under his thumb and reinvent the party and protect democracy. They should have taken it.
As it stands now, Republicans have literally bet the House on Trump remaining in power and protecting their seats via gerrymandering and suspension of democracy. If their bet fails, and I hope it does ASAP, then they will be voted out of office for years to come. All the cheating and voter suppression will come to a crashing end, yay, and then they have no hope of regaining their grip on power.

While I have abundant respect for Former President Biden, unfortunately in this case, he failed as both President and Commander-in-Chief on 20 Jan 2021.
Trump, beyond any reasonable doubt - at noon 20 Jan 2021 and ever since - had orchestrated an attempted overthrow of the United States Government via a massive violent attack on the US Capitol that included the attempted murder of both the Vice President and Members of Congress.
Trump achieved an attack that the Confederate Army, as close as they came, never accomplished. Likewise, no Foreign Power in more than 200 years had come as close to ending our Democratic Republic as Trump's mob did.
He should have been arrested on 20 Jan 2021 and prosecuted thereafter, to the fullest extent of the Law.
So, we each have our opinion and as long as we can maintain and nurture the 1st Amendment, we will be able to do so, freely.

Meaning soldiers will not take orders from Trump if they are illegal or dangerous to the people. How they have shown resistance by ruining Trumps birthday parade, delaying his military fly over, etc.
