It’s Thursday, and the reckoning has begun.
We’re two days past the blue tsunami, and the Trump regime is eating itself alive.
Here’s what we’re tracking right now:
Harmeet Dhillon RESIGNS as DOJ Civil Rights chief, and more departures may be coming…Buh-bye!
JD Vance blames the Iran war for the midterm wipeout as he tries to distance himself from his failures, and Marco Rubio is reportedly preparing to resign and run for president
Scott Colom pulls further ahead in Mississippi while Lauren Boebert’s path keeps shrinking
A bipartisan push to impeach Pete Hegseth as he expands the D.C. National Guard
Five tankers reportedly struck in the Strait of Hormuz as the military preps for possible renewed combat
Putin’s envoy honors Melania at the White House on the same day Zelenskyy reports Russia is drafting stolen Ukrainian children
Trump’s Russian diesel deal unravels
LIV Golf is dead, and Russell Brand is convicted of rape
A reminder: WE CAN’T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU! If you appreciate our reporting, and haven’t converted to a paid subscriber yet, consider doing so now to support our work. Thank you!
Also: BIG NEWS! Our book WTF America: The Way Out of This Hell and Back to Democracy is officially on the New York Times Best Seller list for the SECOND week in a row! And that’s not all… We’ve also made the NYT Audiobook Best Seller list as well! Thank you for making this happen—and let’s keep it going!
Let’s get into it.
The Exodus Begins
The rats are fleeing the sinking ship!!!
The first domino fell this morning. Harmeet Dhillon, Trump’s handpicked chief of the DOJ Civil Rights Division, has resigned following the Democratic Tsunami. Dhillon gutted the division, drove out career attorneys, and pursued some of Trump’s most odious legal crusades. Ben is hearing from sources that there is a feeding frenzy inside the White House, that additional resignations have been planned, including at the cabinet level, and that we should watch the next 48 to 72 hours closely.

One of those may be the Secretary of State. The Independent reports, citing anonymous allies, that Marco Rubio is expected to resign and launch a presidential bid, because he needs to “distance himself from the Iran war and pin that one on Trump.” One ally said Rubio will “run for the hills in the aftermath of the midterms humiliation,” adding that “about four or five of them” will be running with him. A Republican source close to Rubio put it plainly: “The country has completely turned against Trump... The cost of gas has really pissed people off.” Rubio is watching Ron DeSantis effectively run against the regime from Florida and taking notes.
Then there’s JD Vance, who in his first statement on the results, a postmortem, if you will, said flat out that “the reason we lost is the Iran War.” He said a top pollster asked Trump 2024 voters who flipped to Democrats what would bring them back, and the answers were ending the war, focusing on cost of living, putting America First, and changing the relationship with Israel. He even told critics, “you’re right, you did tell us so.” Don Jr. reposted it with “100.”
Here’s the thing, JD: you’re the freakin’ Vice President, man! You were in the room for every single decision. You don’t get to act like you weren’t responsible for this disaster.
In a parliamentary system, a shellacking like this functions as a vote of no confidence and brings down the government. We don’t have that mechanism, but the message from the American people is just as clear. The Republicans have been repudiated. Democrats should have a mandate.
Here’s what Iran’s Speaker of Parliament had to say about Vance’s comments:
Republicans Turn the Knives on Each Other
KNIVES. OUT.
GOP Rep. Marlin Stutzman went on Newsmax and said there “should be some heads rolling from the White House right now.” Over on Fox, Republican strategist Caroline Sunshine told Jesse Watters that “Susie Wiles needs to resign,” with Fox’s chyron declaring “TRUMP’S COALITION FRACTURES.” In New York, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman called Elise Stefanik “a selfish, do nothing politician” who didn’t lift a finger for New York Republicans.
Steve Bannon is telling Trump to turn the White House into “Fort Apache” because Democrats are coming. His guest Terry Schilling admitted that Republican voters showed up and voted for Democrats, citing $5 gas, the Epstein files, and Trump calling the cost-of-living crisis a hoax. Ted Cruz released a video calling it “a Watergate level repudiation.” When Ted Cruz is calling it an ass kicking… I mean, OOF!!
And next week, when Congress returns for the lame duck, watch for Republicans who just lost their jobs to start working with Democrats.
The whole game has just changed.
Trump’s Response…
Here’s Trump’s interpretation of the disaster of his own making. He’s claiming Republicans “paid the costs” for securing the border, fighting Iran, taking on special interests, and backing AI.
Let’s take those one at a time.
Unleashing ICE on American cities was a loser.
Losing a war we never should have started was a loser.
This is the most corrupt regime in American history, so spare us the special interests line.
And on AI, 41 data center moratoria on the ballot passed by overwhelming margins. Voters rejected that, too.
The White House also posted a hazy photo of the Reflecting Pool saying Trump “made D.C. beautiful again.” Then Trump spent the night ranting about daylight saving time, complaining that it was dark by 5:31 p.m. Because, priorities!
The only person willing to defend him on TV was his daughter-in-law-turned-Fox host. Lara Trump told Fox “it takes a long time to rebuild from the Biden years,” then said Trump deserves “a lot of credit” on Iran because “he knew this was a political loser for him and he did it anyway.” Eyeroll
The Races Still Being Counted
Mississippi: Democrat Scott Colom has pulled further ahead of Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, and I think he is going to pull this off. The latest AP estimate, with 96% counted, has Colom at 466,226 (49.0%) and Hyde-Smith at 464,502 (48.9%), a 1,724-vote gap. The race is not called.
Mississippi has until Nov. 10 to count provisional and late mail ballots, and there are no automatic recounts; only a court can order one. Trump won nearly 61% of the state in 2024 and rallied for Hyde-Smith last month.
No Democrat has won a Mississippi Senate race since 1982, and the state hasn’t elected a Black senator since Reconstruction.
I need to share this other bit of context with you, because it truly is the cherry on the top… So Joe Biden nominated Colom to be a federal judge a few years back, and Hyde-Smith blocked him with a blue slip. Now, he may take her seat.
We had Colom on the show back in 2025 and then back on the network the week before the election. We told you not to sleep on him!
Colorado’s 4th: Is time up for Lauren Boebert? Retired Navy admiral Eileen Laubacher, a 34-year veteran with National Security Council experience, leads Boebert 48.73% to 48.04% with 92.8% counted, a 2,513-vote margin.
9News’ Kyle Clark reports Weld County, Boebert’s stronghold, is done counting with far fewer votes than expected, which makes her comeback “very difficult.” Boebert already told an interviewer she’s in an “uphill climb” and that the race “doesn’t define me.” This is roughly a Trump +19 district.
And I also want to flag this… New Hampshire’s legislature went from a Republican majority to a Democratic supermajority. By massive numbers.
Accountability Season Is HERE
Rep. Robert Garcia, expected to chair House Oversight, has a message for Trump and his allies: lawyer up. Democrats are preparing investigations into the Putin diesel deal, Trump crypto ventures, suspicious market trades, big tech donors to the White House ballroom, and the gold-bars-and-Rolexes corruption we’ve watched in plain view.
Pete Hegseth is in the crosshairs. Rep. Thomas Massie says he’ll reintroduce articles of impeachment, and Republicans who lost their seats may join Democrats to move it as early as next week.
Ben just sat down with Rep. Pat Ryan, an Army veteran with two combat tours in Iraq, about exactly that. We’ll post the interview here soon.
Adding to it, a new Politico scoop reports Hegseth’s wife Jennifer, a former Fox producer, was paid last year by Watchtower Strategy, a Trump-connected consulting firm that also worked for Lockheed Martin.
Hegseth’s response to the walls closing in? Politico reports he authorized the D.C. National Guard to begin using boats, several dozen marked police cars, Humvees and light medium tactical vehicles in the capital. Our Ron Filipkowski called it “MAGA Martial Law in the nation’s capital.”
Iran Updates
The IRGC claims two more tankers caught fire in the eastern Strait of Hormuz, bringing today’s total to five plus a tugboat. UKMTO verified a tanker was hit by two projectiles 50 nautical miles north of Madinat ash Shamal, Qatar. Early warning alerts went off in Yanbu and Sharorah in Saudi Arabia after Houthi missile and drone launches. Iran also downed its 56th MQ-9 Reaper, at tens of millions of dollars apiece.
Despite all of this, Axios reports the U.S. military is finishing preparations for a possible resumption of major combat operations, with Trump under pressure from Hegseth, Adm. Brad Cooper and Netanyahu. Israel’s UN ambassador Danny Danon is already making the case that Iran threatens American targets.
Meanwhile, Iranian state TV aired a staged hanging of Trump in Tehran, with billboards threatening to kill him. Russia agreed to supply Iran 90 helicopter-mounted launchers for LMUR guided missiles, and a U.S. intelligence report calls Iran an “emerging” space power. So much for Scott Bessent’s “Operation Economic Outcast” and his “with us or against us” posting. China and Russia have answered, yeah, we’re against you.
The New York Times reports, citing officials, that Iran is reviewing “concrete proposals” on its nuclear program. Iranian adviser Mohsen Rezaei said the opposite: Tehran won’t open Hormuz or negotiate on it until its seven conditions are met. HFI Research summed it up in two words: “No change.”
Putin’s Envoy Honors Melania
Melania hosted Russian and Ukrainian officials at the White House today. Kirill Dmitriev, Putin’s right hand and the guy Witkoff and Kushner do their deals with, stood at the podium and thanked her for her “distinguished humanitarian role” in the Oleshky situation, then handed her a framed gift. Melania thanked Russia’s human rights commissioner for bringing “hope and dignity.” It’s a massive propaganda win handed directly to Putin.

The same day, Zelenskyy said Russia has started sending Ukrainian children it abducted, now grown up during the war, into the Russian army to fight against Ukraine. “This is horrible, and it must stop,” he said.
Trump’s Russian Diesel Deal Falls Apart
The Financial Times reports three tankers carrying Russian diesel to the U.S. have veered off course. One switched to Brazil, another turned into the Mediterranean signaling “for orders,” meaning no confirmed buyer, and a third is doing the same. They were due here Nov. 7 to 11. It turns out no American company wants to touch sanctioned Russian fuel with Democrats about to hold subpoena power.
Quick Hits
LIV Golf is dead. LIV’s lawyers confirmed in New Jersey bankruptcy court that the company is winding down. In 2022 Trump bragged about his Saudi friends and said “what they’re doing for golf is so great.”
Russell Brand convicted. A London jury found Brand guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. Last month he spoke at a MAHA event alongside JD Vance, RFK Jr. and Mehmet Oz, and opened with a joke about consent. This is who the regime put on stage.
Vance and Jake Paul. With a war raging, the Vice President filmed a cringey promo for Jake Paul’s Christmas Eve fight in Dubai, joking about a pardon. And they wonder why young men swung toward Democrats.
The Arlington arch. A Vietnam veteran suing Trump over his proposed arch said he has a duty to protect his fallen buddies “from this vainglorious monument.”
Again: WTF America?!, the book I wrote with Ben and Jordy, is on the New York Times bestseller list for the second week in a row. Thank you all. Grab it in hardcover, ebook or audio, and check out the Blue Wave merch at store.meidastouch.com.
Accountability season is here. See you soon.
