Greed and power I think causes this. Serfdom seems to be the end goal after we’ve lost everything and are pretty much impoverished. That’s why we need to fight as hard as we can.
CAPITALISM created this. Rampant greed derived from Capitalism. Only rich people love it. It has never helped the middle, lower, or poor classes.

Just like the only people who benefit every time Trump pump and dumps the stock market are rich people with high amounts of liquid assets to invest with. Lower class couldn’t benefit even if they knew about it.
