Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) attacked MeidasTouch for reporting on the failure by the federal government and state government in connection with the Texas flash flood. In attacking us, the DHS accidentally incriminated itself and proved its own negligence. Here’s what happened.
We posted on the MeidasTouch social media accounts that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem failed to activate the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Team for at least 72 hours after the floods that have now taken the lives of over 120 people, including many young girls from Camp Mystic.
The DHS responded to our post and accused us of “FAKE NEWS,” which they wrote in all caps.
They wrote a lengthy response attacking us as “activist journalists,” and they praised Kristi Noem for her “deployment” to Texas, which they said saved “900 lives.”
In the final paragraph of the long post attacking us, the DHS official account wrote that by Tuesday there were 311 FEMA personnel on scene in Texas.
Perhaps the DHS should pull out a calendar.
The bad weather was approaching Kerr County on Thursday, July 3. In normal operations before Trump, the FEMA resources would have been deployed then. The floods happened in the early hours of July 4. FEMA staff have said they were ready to deploy Urban Search and Rescue teams immediately.
Under the new FEMA protocols, FEMA was prevented from deploying the resources that were ready, since any expenditure over $100K required Kristi Noem’s personal signature.
Noem was too busy over the weekend posting on Instagram various photos of herself in different outfits and asking her followers which outfit they liked best in a poll.
Where was the search and rescue team on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, as the FEMA team had prepared?
Kristi Noem’s boasting in her attack on us about having FEMA staff positioned on Tuesday is an incriminating admission, in my opinion. Why did it take until Tuesday? Resources should have been ready on Thursday or at the latest by 1 a.m. on Friday.
As an aside, where the heck is the head of FEMA, David Richardson, who has not spoken, posted, released any statement, or even been seen since the floods? Did he just disappear? Is he in hiding? Richardson has no experience in emergency management in any capacity before being appointed to lead FEMA.
The fact that DHS is attacking Meidas shows we are getting under their skin.
It shows we were right not to hold back and to lead the coverage calling out the Trump regime for their reckless and malicious handling of the flash floods when everyone else was saying it was “too soon” or it would be “disrespectful” to call out Trump during this tragedy. I don’t see it that way.
I grieve with the victims and their families. I mourn for them. I shed tears and have had nightmares thinking about what they went through. Yes, my thoughts and prayers and heart all go out to them. I can’t fathom the pain they are in now.
I feel that I am still obligated to report the news and report the truth. (Remember to add the MeidasTouch Podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.)
Given that the MeidasTouch Network is now the largest digital news platform in the world, I feel duty-bound and obliged to call out the facts in an effort to avoid this happening again and to make sure the bad actors are held accountable.
I feel strongly about this duty.
I am glad other networks are now following our lead.

The more you keep pointing out their mistakes, their lies, their corrupt evil on human lives, the better. Keep going Meidas.
I hope pro democracy content journalists talk about the trump cover up of the epstein files and his failures every day until he is out of office… and he will go…even if by force.
