I said at the time. Now, I'm wondering if we at the beginning of critical egg shortages and continuing higher prices? How will this affect the food industry that relies on eggs? Will prices continue to go up? Will Bird Flu spread among human population?
Our Safeway in Oregon was out of them because of Bird Flu problem in December, through Christmas. I haven't tried to get any recently, so I don't know if they are still having an issue, it's not on their weekly sales flyers anymore saying that they don't have eggs, so I assume they do. I just thought I would wait a bit longer.
When this current Avian Flu outbreak has run its course and the chicken population recovers and begins laying again, egg prices will settle down, like always.

I had a friend who raised his own chickens. Unfortunately, he couldn't keep the raccoons from raiding his coop and killing the birds, so he gave up.
I used to raise them. It isn't as easy as some people make it out to be.

I just spent 9.95 for a dozen eggs in southern california at stater brothers grocery chain.
Need to change grocers? They are 3-5$,in Missouri but higher at Whole Foods
Try Aldi. They tend to be a little less aggressive in price.
The last lot of eggs I bought was £2.20 for 10.
