And incredible book to read and suggest to others (if you haven't already) is called "Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business", by Neil Postman. Published in 1985. To my knowledge it has pretty much prophesized the shit show we are in now. Ot really is time for younger generations to be motivated to educate themselves about government and politics without the social media, Russian bot propaganda machines.
