Yes, with setback there is opportunity. The uniformed, misguided Americans who voted for Trump against their own interests are going to learn their lesson the hard way. Unfortunately, those of us who may have known better also have a lesson to learn. The vast majority of Americans are uniformed and disengaged, so they don't care. You can't make people care unless they are personally discomforted. So that is about to happen.

Now, we need to understand why people made the choice they did. Apparently, Americans hate "the establishment" more than they hate Trump. America is hungry for an outsider. The people want to get rid of corrupt, career politicians, but they mistaken believed Trump was going to do that, where the truth is the opposite.

Career, establishment Democrats are not the answer. Bernie Sanders is absolutely right and the Democrats have abandoned the working class. The most popular and successful things that Biden accomplished were the progressive policies pushed by the economic populist wing. Progressives need to break off from the Democratic party and start a third party for the people and labor. The central principle should be getting the money out of politics, which includes reversing Citizens United, reforming ethics in all branches, banning stock trading, and considering shifting to publicly funded elections.

Opportunity exists, but Democrats trying to resurrect the status quo that has been rejected is madness.
