UPDATES on the COLBERT COUP and Meidas Open Letter

I will be brief with this update. We’ve now learned that the CEO of Skydance—the company essentially acquiring the CBS parent company, Paramount—met with Trump’s FCC Chair, Brendan Carr, before firing Colbert, according to a report by Axios. I suspected that after Trump got CBS to settle the frivolous lawsuit over the 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris, he felt emboldened to shake them down even more by going after Colbert. That’s the way he operates. I don’t think we need an investigation to understand what happened here. Trump wanted Colbert gone, and so it goes, in my opinion. That is what humorless and weak dictators do.

Since I sent the open letter to Stephen Colbert inviting him to join MeidasTouch as a host, it has been read over 1 million times. The current YouTube charts by Playboard now have MeidasTouch as the most-watched YouTube channel in America—beating Netflix and Fox News. Today, MeidasTouch has reclaimed the top spot on Substack as the fastest-growing Substack channel in America. This is why I think we would be an ideal spot for Colbert to join. We can send a powerful message to CBS, since Meidas now gets far more views and has a far bigger audience than CBS and even Fox.

Colbert is still under contract through May 2026. I suspect things could move quicker than that, but I don’t know for sure. I am hopeful we will be in the running.
