Colbert. You deserve high dollars where ever go. Love your show😍

I love Colbert!

It’s a shame that he and other late night TV hosts have done a better job of calling out Trump than some elected Democrats.

The only thing a dictator hates more than ridicule is when people laugh at him. I guess watching a comedian impersonate Trump every night hurts his little feelings.

Trump can’t turn it off so he’s got to cancel Colbert to kick the habit.

Make no mistake about it, CBS canceling Colbert is no coincidence. Trump silences critics, rewrites culture, and demands loyalty, and payoffs. His vendetta is shaping a dark, dystopian future. Authoritarianism is advancing!

A society that doesn’t think critically and doesn’t laugh at power is a society ripe for authoritarian rule. I'm wearing this "We will NOT comply with tyranny" t-shirt right now 👇

I'm boycotting EVERYTHING CBS except Colbert till May 2026.

After that -- no more CBS.

I've written to let them and will continue to write to them.

Dam' both CBS and 47.

Oaktown's avatar

I'm hoping Colbert ups the skewering of this pathetic regime from now until May 2026; what's he got to lose? Stick it to 'em, Stephen!!

Leonardo Del Toro's avatar

Oh, yes... he will, and this might be his best season, making CBS realize the mistake they made letting him go.

Michelle Ponkutcat 060's avatar

Like Stephen said in his "announcement" on Thursday the next 10 months "will be fun". I, for one, will be looking forward to his show.

Eileen Howorth's avatar

Trump told them to fire him

1st light's avatar

CBS could tell Colbert to hit the bricks immediately, as long as they pay him. The money is spent regardless, it just depends on how much more damage he could do on the air.

Eileen Howorth's avatar

Meidas will pick him up

Ellen CW's avatar

I’m going to do that too. CBS can go into the bucket along with some other things I’ve boycotted 👍

Edie Sadowski's avatar

So am I! Everything except Colbert! Canceled my Paramount Plus. FDT!💩💩💩💩💩😡

Jane's avatar

Ditto - I ditched paramount!

Natalie's avatar

I was thinking the exact same thing, Cheryl. Colbert has a ton of viewers and if everybody did that it may have a notable impact.

Leonardo Del Toro's avatar

Who watches CBS anyway? They don't deserve Colbert's brilliance; they can go to hell. I'm sure somebody, and a much better body, is signing him in as I write this.

Eileen Howorth's avatar

They cancelled him at trumps request

Cheryl LaGuardia's avatar

I think it was at 47's demand -- THAT is what makes it so heinous.

Cheryl LaGuardia's avatar

At 47's demand, I think. B@st@rds.

Leonardo Del Toro's avatar

Let me tell you something. These stupid corporations will realize very soon that if they turn away their viewers, it's not a good thing.

Karol Thornton-Remiszewski's avatar

He's an abuser. If you cave to an abuser, the abuse will only get worse.

Naomi Nobles's avatar

It would be wonderful if Colbert came to Meidas! It would be good for Americans! Especially those who value Truth, real Justice, the Constitution and The Rule of Law!

Leonardo Del Toro's avatar

Yes. I think Colbert has always been somewhat of a politician. Maybe now this tendency will become stronger.

Eileen Howorth's avatar

Ugh he has dimentia and lied about his health. I'm sure he has diabetes we know he's had a brain issue we saw it stage

Eileen Howorth's avatar

Onstage where he slurred his words

SeekingReason's avatar

Colbert doesn’t need more multi millions. Nobody does. But he’d be a great person to have on Meidas.

Brenda's avatar

How about all those billionaires that are running our country??

Edie Sadowski's avatar

And destroying it for THEIR benefit

1st light's avatar

They don't need more money, either.

Maryooch's avatar

He also might be thinking it's time to hang it up. If I was him, at 61 years old (I am three days older than him :) ), I'd find a sturdy beach chair and watch the occupier implode. Maybe choose projects here and there if I felt like it.

Kathy H's avatar

He seems like a person that enjoys what he does, maybe it would be a fun project to sometimes hang out here. We sure could use his talent if it were doable & we sure could use a laugh. It will be glorious to see in a new age come with serious ethics & truth along with wonderful the sound of laughter that is real humor...not cruelty called jokes.

1st light's avatar

I was thinking it's a question of how much he enjoys working and what else he might like to do.

Lisa's avatar

Be great if we could stop thinking in terms of capitalism but yeah seems like he doesn’t deserve this fascist nonsense

Richard Waddell's avatar

Making money, getting money, having money - that is

the center of the cyclone of deetee...along with not being

laughed at. Nothing else registers, but wait - there's more to life...

Rose Strain's avatar

Likewise his awesome band and the rest of the 200 staff who make his show happen.

Cheryl LaGuardia's avatar

I've begun sending CBS daily updates of what I'm not watching on their network.

Today's message was:

Subject: What I didn't watch today

Message:

Today I didn't watch:

CBS Saturday Morning,

CBS Evening News,

48 Hours, or any other of your shows.

Sincerely loathe you,

Cheryl

I'll continue to do this. If anyone wants the email address to which comments can be sent, it's:

Boycotts work.

Erica's avatar

He should run against Linsey Graham in SC! He already has a PAC that he started back in his Colbert Report days.

Cathy Henson's avatar

The Pope might campaign for him!

Erica's avatar

Let’s flood social media with this idea! I have a photo on my SubStack page you can take a screen shot and post everywhere!

Melissa G27's avatar

I'd vote for Steven Colbert for POTUS. He's smart and capable. Low information voters look for someone whose name they know. A big reason why Trump was even considered. Look at RFK Jr. What a fool he is, but he has the famous name.

foofaraw & Chiquita(ARF!)'s avatar

I might to cast a vote in S.C....and have it count!

That hasn't happened since JC in '76.

Cheryl LaGuardia's avatar

This is a great suggestion.

Toni Boczkiewicz's avatar

Yes!!! Run Colbert run!

Fraser's avatar

good idea Erica!!

Erica's avatar

I must confess it’s not my idea, I copied it from Facebook. I’m trying to post it where ever I see a substack about Colbert.

Nazi Voting War Machine Rolling Toward 2026

The Nazis are involved in 50% of pending voting and election cases with deep pockets to fund them The DOJ has now demanded voter rolls from 9 states in order to assure themselves that all the voters are “legitimate” all the while harvesting personal data that they can use to attack registered voters and potentially knock them off the rolls

Further a midterm gerrymandering card is being played out in Texas and compliant Nazis in the state legislature are hard at work to comply with Cheeto’s demand This is also being played out in other red states

In March Cheeto, knowing his executive orders would be unpopular, launched his SAVE America executive which would disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters across the country Courts issued an injunction of that order but that has not stopped legislators from red states to enact the executive order into their legislation

WE the People need to organize and let our friends, neighbors, relatives, and family know about this The attack on American voting rights began as Nazi propaganda that “we just want to have free and fair elections” to actual election subversion and taking away the right to vote The Nazis will stop at nothing to undermine the right to vote and reduce the ability of American citizens to exercise their choice

It’s up to all of us to stop this election subversion by planning a mass turnout in 2026

Writer Chick With a Ukulele's avatar

Yep, the fascist regime is rolling in and doing everything they can to destroy this country

Betsy Borkiewicz's avatar

Not just corrupt but Nazi’s from HELL! Slime🐉

Connie Larsen's avatar

🍊💩! Fight! Fight! Fight!

Help people get registered! Get people to the polls!

I LOVE voting by mail! Been doing it for over 50+ years!

I’ve observed vote counting at election headquarters! Couldn’t be safer! Cameras everywhere!👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪👍👍👍👍

WJB Motown's avatar

Coast to coast NOKINGS protests every weekend...........Complet buisness and school walk outs every week. Shut down the entire nation.....zero excuses!!!

Or live in tyranny for the rest of your lives

Connie Larsen's avatar

Call any member of Congress especially republicans!

202 225 3121 or 202 224 3121

They need to hear that they are going down!

Betsy Borkiewicz's avatar

Except every State is checking the voting rolls NOW & 9 states already are throwing out your name if you voted for any Democrat so they’ll trash it. Cunning, Calculating, Cruel & CORRUPT‼️

Connie Larsen's avatar

I just got my ballot for county state elections. We vote by mail for over 40ish years. I’ve actually observed election counting. Cameras everywhere!

Anne's avatar

As a Canuck, can I suggest you ALL do IN PERSON PAPER BALLOTS. No mail in ballots. No electronic voting. Less to muck around with. Is this possible?? Hopefully. 🇨🇦 🍁 ❤️

Sonja's avatar

Some states like Oregon and Washington are ONLY mail in voting.

Eowyn Dernhelme's avatar

This is true, Oregon and Washington votes only by mail. No one's asked for our voting data yet, as far as I know.

However, with the voting machines problem (the company in charge of keeping the machines in order removed the hash bit from some machines. This will allow anyone to inject malicious code into them).

I'm hearing talk of a 3-day nationwide work shutdown.

RJM's avatar

It also would - possibly - prevent hacking of tabulation software. That's been a problem for years and it doesn't seem like the good people have ever taken it seriously, possibly because the other party poisoned the term 'voter fraud.' But hacking the software is _election_ fraud: it's large scale, remote, changeable on the fly, etc. Voter fraud (which there's always been very little evidence of) is one voter at a time.

WJB Motown's avatar

We need to get ourselves together north of this ballooning insanity. There is zero chance I will be travelling to the US........ever again. This hoser is headed for europe.

Protect the Vote's avatar

thanks for your comment...not sure it's possible but will try to dig deeper

Edie Sadowski's avatar

Good 💡 idea thanks for your support, Canada 🇨🇦

Ashley's avatar

Would love it if he did join Meidas 😍

Bella listens's avatar

Stephen Colbert is a legend and we need him! CBS is trashed.

Edie Sadowski's avatar

DONE WITH CBS!!! Collaborator cowards

Natalie Halem's avatar

Boycott Paramount plus, cancel those streaming subscriptions

Celeste Hardway's avatar

I already did, right after the "60 Minutes" fiasco!

L B Bowen's avatar

I believe Stephen Colbert will want something similar to what he has—a great studio, live audience, his team of writers and his band. He is an honorable man and will want to save all their jobs. Plus he and his team

stimulate each other’s creativity, and he learns so much from his audience—what makes them laugh and what they care about.

Maybe he will join with other comedians and purchase a studio or do something completely unexpected. I just hope he doesn’t give up because we need him.🥰

Anne's avatar

Legends don't give up, but I love your idea!

L B Bowen's avatar

Melanie Becnel,

Together, they might be able to purchase an entire studio with 3 stages and each of them air their shows online from the same studio. They could air them on youtube, substack and other places that could reach audiences around the world! And they could each have their own band and writers. They could reach hundreds of millions of people instead of

millions.

Melanie Becnel's avatar

Jimmy Kimmel is also a great watch. He too has great writers. I would love to see Seth, Stephen and Jimmy band together. Perhaps rotating nights with one night together. I totally agree...WE NEED THEM! Even if they purchased a studio....where would it air? It's obvious that any station would be next in turmeric trump's crosshairs.

Edie Sadowski's avatar

He gestalt of his energy 👏 🙌 from a live audience!

Eudora Foster's avatar

Steven Colbert we’d love to hear from you!!

You are amazing

Casey Wente's avatar

Colbert deserves a platform! <3

Carolyn Baker's avatar

He certainly does. He has been my favorite for many years and I feel very sad picturing him gone next year.

Edie Sadowski's avatar

Mine too!😥💙💙💙💙

Jody Magee's avatar

He’ll state his case quite well, I believe, over the next ten months. Can’t wait!

Stephanie Schulman's avatar

I will sorely miss Stephen.

I. Just dropped paramount from my streaming choices.

Thank you Ben and brothers!

Stephanie Schulman

Edie Sadowski's avatar

Will miss my Paramount Plus Star Trek episodes! Will wait for them to come out on DVD

PlasticFish's avatar

Also a Trek fan... but I can also wait.

Paul Schwartz's avatar

This is so devastating and cannot stand mainstream media. I would also like to see Legal AF get an interview with Maureen Comey - hopefully she can shed some light w/o getting into any legal trouble. Ben, Jordy, Brett - thank you!

Anne's avatar

I don't know that it's devastating for Stephen Colbert, he is multi-talented, he will survive this shameful act by CBS. They have essentially set him free!! He is liquid gold!! His future looks even brighter!! HBO will offer him a show, etc. The options are boundless.

Anne's avatar

Yes to that interview!!!

Barb O's avatar

There is some truth to the idea that ad revenue for late nights shows has dropped significantly. However, the timing of the deal is suspect. Time for Colbert to create his own company and take it on the road to wherever its' welcome. Maybe here.

Edie Sadowski's avatar

It was political! Who's afraid of the Big, Bad Jerk!

Monique Bousquin's avatar

That

would be AMAAAAAAZING!

Carolene Logue's avatar

Canceled Paramount + and no longer watch CBS News. I clearly get the uncensored news from Substack. Thanks Meidas for your indepth coverage 👍 👏

WJB Motown's avatar

Every American should cancel their cable tv!! Cut Trumpcult propaganda off at the knees.

No excuses.

Drastic action NOW or live in tyranny forever you guys

We have our elbows up and getting our euro/commonwealth connections hotwired major.

Never 51.....not happening!!!

David W.'s avatar

Good job! You’re now a player who can make a difference in what happens ahead.

David W.'s avatar

And if we play our cards right, I can foresee other avenues related to unifying the geopolitical landscape for a new country that is free of the threat the white nationalists and GOP has brought onto our nation.

Remember that Substack video which proposed the Blue Card/ReCard States?

Here’s a copy and hope that you’ll share it.
