Same reason why Trump’s family has not done a mental health intervention. For the Trump family it’s all about Power. For the Kennedy’s those brave ones already sacrificed too many with their lives. Power corrupts and it takes brave souls to step up.

They are too embarrassed to even try. Their denial of him is pretty damning.

In the Kennedy clan, to be shunned by the family is an extreme last resort. My interpretation is that, whatever reason(s) the clan as a whole decided to put RFK Jr on the "Shun List", it has to be extremely appalling & disturbing.

What does "he's not female" & "Rose Kennedy" got to do with this conversation? Am I missing some posts? 😯Oh! Are the connections in the video?🤦🏻‍♀️ I didn't watch all of it.

Rosemary Kennedy had mild -- emphasis mild --mental slowness due to birth complications when her mother decide she was going to hold the baby in instead of having a doctor that wasn't hers.

so, because her father was embarrassed by what were again minor mental health issues as described here:

https://people.com/politics/letters-jfk-sister-rosemary-kennedy-lobotomy/

he had her lobotomized and institutionalized for life.

her siblings wouldn't see her for years, and when they did again they were so horrified the advocated for the original Americans with Disabilities Act --she's literally the reason we have it.

so,because Joe Kennedy was embarrassed , he destroyed his daughter, and now the family overcorrects in the other direction when it comes to mental illness - they don't act at all.

adding to this, this is the most generous version of what he did. a lot of the other stories about it claim that she was just very outspoken and not particularly disabled at all mentally --just socially unacceptable because she was a woman who spoke her mind--which adds to the horror of the situation.

Google her name.

bring tissues:-(

Rose was the mother's name. Rosemary was the daughter. I'm very aware of what her father had done to her.

Thank you for clarifying and fixing, Dot. I agree with the "What about her?" post in that I won't go look at such time-occupying urls but would prefer the explanation of why to go there, that you then supplied, come first. Or some shorter summary of it to let me know whether I would want to go read or see that. Not picking on you; I often don't follow mere urls. Usually, I need a title at least.

I still don't see much relevance.

Posting a long url without any title or mention of what it's about is a sure way for me to not look at it. It is a lazy post that doesn't get read by me, at least. Not picking on Dot particularly. Amidst the hundreds of things I look at in a day, helpful titles or explanations let me and others know whether to click on an untitled url or not.

He’s not all there. During his confirmation hearing he didn’t know the difference between Medicare and Medicaid. That should a pretty simple question for someone with a college education.
