We Are Not Attending…
Hey MeidasTouch supporters,
I want to start by asking you to subscribe right now if you’re not already. What we’re building here together matters—and it’s only growing because of you. If you’ve been thinking about joining, now is the time.
Alright, let me get right to it.
A lot of people have been asking me about the White House Correspondents’ Dinner—whether MeidasTouch will be attending, whether we’ll be hosting events around it.
The answer is no.
We are not attending.
And it’s not a hard decision for me.
I have no interest in showing up and pretending everything is normal while a regime openly attacks the free press and undermines the First Amendment. That’s not something I’m going to celebrate. That’s not something I’m going to legitimize with my presence.
Maybe one day, when we have leadership that actually respects the role of a free and independent press, an event like that can be what it’s supposed to be: a self-aware, even self-deprecating gathering that reflects on the importance of journalism in a democracy.
But that’s not where we are right now. Not even close.
Instead, what we’re seeing—especially with the war in Iran—is too many outlets acting like stenographers. Trump says something, they print it. No verification. No pushback. Even when it’s obviously false. And the consequences of that kind of reporting are real.
That’s just not what we do.
And yeah, I get it, that’s probably why some in the corporate media world don’t like us. We’re not part of that ecosystem. We’re not trying to be.
We’re not focused on the parties.
We’re not focused on the optics.
We’re not focused on the celebrity of it all.
We’re focused on the work.
Day in, day out, reporting the news. Building out our independent platform. Expanding our coverage. Giving you the facts without fear or favor.
Just chopping wood.
If you read my Sunday coffee message, you saw some of the realities we’re dealing with right now. The stakes are incredibly high, and the need for independent reporting has never been more urgent.
That’s where my focus is. That’s where our team’s focus is.
And that’s why we’re not attending.
We’re going to keep growing this network the right way—together. Listening to you. Reporting for you. Building something that actually holds power accountable.
So if you’re not subscribed yet, join us.
Let’s keep building this.

That's the right decision in my opinion. Let Faux News and their ilk fill the room.
A difficult choice no doubt but these are difficult times. Bravo for standing up for your ideals which we support and stand with.
