We all need to make the billionaires that support Trump regret their misguided decision by hitting them in the pocketbook. Only buy what you need to live and stop buying things you don’t need. Trump’s big beautiful bill is going to make them more wealthy while taking away from the people who need it to survive. We have to stop feeding the rich!

I have an even harder time understanding why at this moment in time, they haven't seen thru his lies. It's all out there for all to see. If they think he is saving our country, they need to cut out the drugs and booze and think with a clear head and see what he is doing to our country and then say that is what they want. Except for the very rich, I think that people are starting to feel some of the blowback with the tariffs, or maybe they are using credit cards to carry them over. When they can't make the payments on them, they might wonder what happened. I just hope they wake up soon and realize that they might not have any rights if this continues. I, also, believe that so many of them do not pay any attention to what is going on around them. Their world is fine, for now, but when that changes, watch out.

older dogs make great pets; especially if they've been sheltered. They seem to know where they're needed most and recognize love and are grateful for it. The hardest part is losing them too soon, but knowing they crossed the rainbow bridge knowing they're loved takes some of the hurt out.I'vee been disabled for awhile and an older dog seems to recognize our needs as well and do their best to take care of us. My husband brought home a pup a few years ago and she was a little much for me until she learned that I couldn't move well and she settled in and always walked close or behind me and she watchess over me constantly; I wish I could hav gotten her trained addnd registered as a support dog. She is so smart but she thinks she's a lap dog and at 55 lbs that's a lot of love in my lap. She's a border collie mix and her name is Molly .

One of our shortcomings is that we get sucked in too easily by politicians who showboat and self-promote a lot to the point where we say "they're the one ones ..." and ignore a ton of great Democrats who are doing the heavy lifting but often just quietly working in the background and being incredibly effective (Lauren Underwood leaps to mind). Which "dead guy" and which specific slot are you talking about? There's no spot known as "ranking leader." Katherine Clark and Pete Aguilar, neither of them dead, are the second and third in command, and both are terrific. Jeffries is also moving young people, such as Neguse, into leadership roles, but it takes a little time. Crockett is new; Neguse was part of the same class as AOC but he's a lot more effective and accomplished.

I think you're talking about the oversight committee (Connolly was the ranking member; Stephen Lynch is currently the acting ranking member), something AOC has no particular credentials to be the ranking member of. There are 20 other Democrats on the committee, many with experience and credentials that far eclipse hers. In fact, given the many accomplished Democrats on the committee — including Crockett — that choice would be insulting, based only on her popularity with some segments of the public. There are some really impressive people on that committee, and she definitely isn't the star there. I'm pulling for Crockett who is actively campaigning for the top slot on the committee. It's clear Trump is terrified of her.

I know their records, especially Gillibrand whom I've supported for years and was my first choice for presidential candidate in 2016. I follow Progressive Punch constantly which tells you their actual voting record. Gillibrand has never been out of the top 10 most progressive senators. Bernie Sanders has never been in it. (He's currently #14, higher than usual — he's been out of the top 20). Warren is currently #1. There are a lot of great progressives just doing the work, but not constantly pushing their faces everywhere, such as the #2 most progressive senator whose name I'll bet many here wouldn't recognize. It's Mazie Hirono of Hawaii. You might want to check their records.

(I know there was a smear campaign against Gillibrand by supporters of Al Franken, but everything they claimed was a misogynist lie. She's one of the most reliable progressives in the Democratic Party and she had nothing to do with his resignation — that was all on Chuck Schumer.)

Bernie? It is to laugh. He is JB Pritzker, a billionaire who understands that he personally doesn't need more, but that working people do. I formerly had a great senator who was focused on lifting up working people and the poor, but he was defeated by a sleazy car salesman, thank to people being duped by a bunch of billionaire-funded ads screaming "A trans woman is going to rape your daughter in a public restroom." How stupid ARE people?

I have to add that I was shocked to learn that JB is the richest person ever elected governor of any state in U.S. history and the second richest ever elected to any office, after Michael Bloomberg. He sure doesn't act like it. He puts the circle of greedy, selfish Trump barracudas to shame.

I’ve been trained and have worked in this field for several decades and could offer a few ideas on developing a community analysis, as well as a process for a community vision that includes goals & the measuring of success. Several state economic developments have these services but they also are in bed with the very people who have exploited the working class. Big Banks, the Insurance Industry, Big Box Stores, and Corporate entities which control so many franchises are examples of what we are up against. The Public Banking model that began in North Dakota in the early nineteen hundreds is an excellent way to keep local money recirculating through the community rather than it all going directly to Wall Street. Please go to PublicBankingInstitute.org if you’re interested. As a Scottish Republican who is outside looking in, the only people I can see who seem to hate America, and Americans, are MAGA repubs. Who, in real terms, aren't republicans at all.

To MAGA fans who say they hate government, I can only say, that in all my long and colourful life I have never seen an American government more in the face of its own people than this Trump/Vance/Musk MAGA government we see now... and they say Americans don't do irony?

In the immortal words of John Lennon: "Power to the People!" Yes, we saw that yesterday. Keep it up friends, keep it up and return America to the greatness it always was until last January.

As it is, we in Scotland hated Trump before he became fashionable. Wow! "Trump" and "fashionable" in the same sentence... what was I saying about irony?

Ronnie RayGun began slashing taxes for the wealthy, deregulating businesses & banking, & busting unions, & the middle class has shrunk since then. The wealth gap has widened to an unsustainable level, & that is why so many people are angry & the pot is about to boil over.

I'm so glad the military did not turn the heads and salute him. Did see a couple of guys on a tank do it..he doesn't deserve to be saluted after what he's done to our veterans.

Agree! And he does the salute so poorly! Terrible posture, eyes darting all over.. I feel bad for the Army who deserve better than what took place yesterday.

I attended the rally in Buffalo with approximately 10,000 like-minded people. It was awesome. We did have a few incidents where MAGA actually punched a couple of people, and a young man in a car had an extremely loud engine. A peackeeper took a video of him. The MAGA supporter yanked on the young person who was playing his trombone. The police quickly apprehended him, handcuffed him, and impounded his car. I'm pretty sure the police apprehended the man who punched people, but I didn't see it. I just encouraged the person I saw to report him to the peacekeepers and the police. So MAGA will try to provoke us, and we need to be aware. The Buffalo police did an awesome job of protecting the protestors.

The Cleveland police said there was one arrest of being "disorderly," less than the average beer fest. I didn't see any counterprotestors. It wasn't a friendly environment for them with the huge annual Juneteenth Freedom Fest going on a block away. I'm sure our local people said "hundreds" of people protested, but there were thousands, probably not as many as Pride last week, but still a massive crowd (It was the biggest Pride here ever.) Also there were about a dozen smaller No Kings events in nearby suburbs, and some were pretty large, despite rain, including in Parma, a large blue-collar suburb that used to be solidly Democratic but has leaned Trump in recent years. It was once notorious for its whiteness and racism, but friends who went to their No Kings event said it was huge too.

If Philly alone had 100,000 and Chicago had 75,000, you know it was well over the 2-3 million some were initially projecting.
