The death tolls of 47 may be higher than the pandemic death tolls of 45.

I believe you're right. (And that's not counting the tens -- or hundreds? -- of millions of people outside the U.S. who are and will continue to die once the orange sadist finishes destroying USAID.)

Speaking for the eastern half of Africa, which I know a bit about, the death rate from what Trumpo is doing will result in potentially many hundreds of deaths up and down the continent. It will also have a longterm effect on the health and wellbeing of Africans and it will eliminate this method of "soft diplomacy", as it's come to be known.

And China will step right in and take our place.

China has been active in much of Africa for many years now. They would come into a country, say 'oh, you really should have tarmac main roads with bridges where necessary' and offer to do the work. The country's leadership is thrilled and tells them so. Next thing they know, China is bringing in everything that's needed, including Chinese laborers (I've never seen a case where China actually provided work to Africans), and once it's all finished and everyone loves it, at some point the realization sets in that China LOANED the money to cover the costs of the roads and bridges. So now a number of African countries are in debt to China up past their eyeballs, without the ability to repay China for the work done. I believe this snow job is still in practice; any reader with a different specific knowledge or experience, please correct me.

Not only African countries where governments fell due to China's attempt to take over everything in the country (Zambia is an example) Sri Lanka and Nepal are two Asian nations dep in debt to China. Sri Lanka's government fell due to Hambantota port disaster. Unfortunately now we are an integral part of the evil axis in the world.

I am concerned that the death rates from the absence of U.S. aid will create violent conflict situations.

Yeah… it’s going to be awful. I’m already seeing drastic increases in my electric bill so I’m worried what these tariffs against Canada are going to do to us.

Yes! From USAid funding consequences alone, there will be many deaths, but think of those who are losing their jobs in and out of the public sector not getting proper healthcare, airplane death tolls, Dept of Health vaccine and other decisions, and of course deaths linked to stress #47 has caused….Wow! The list can only grow and grow!!

And then there is the $880 billion Medicaid tax cut... . $70 million Americans need it to survive, including 37 million children.

Of course, the 'savings' will go to the essential $4 TRILLION tax cut to the richest Americans, who desperately want to keep avoiding paying any taxes at all. National Debt? Oh, that's obviously the fault of "Sleepy Joe"....

Will be. For sure. Think of the millions that will lose health care alone. Combine that with inability to work due to being elderly and/or disabled and/or seriously ill for many and that is a humanitarian nightmare. This administration is literally trying to kill Americans. Trump, Musk, Vance, Thiel, Vought & Co. Are already happily killing adults and children around the globe through illegally destroying USAID. It’s all alarming and deeply distressing to anyone with a conscience and critical thinking skills. And the complicit puppets smugly parrot their talking points while they aren’t busy dancing on the tables or golfing at Mar-a-Diablo. It’s building up to real French Revolution territory.

I agree that they don’t seem to care that people will die all over the world. But they will get richer. The thing about the very rich is that they always want more.

The NYT today gave an overview of the hundreds of millions of adults and children expected to die within a year now that funding was illegally halted. And USAID isn't even 1% of the overall budget... . Meanwhile, billionaires receive TRILLIONS in additional tax cuts. It's utterly unwise and immoral.
