We normally spend 3-4 months in Florida as snowbirds and spend about $4-5 thousand per month on food and accommodations. We try to avoid talking politics with our American friends. As soon as the election was won by Trump, we cancelled our plans and decided to stay home this winter. We just can’t tolerate the racism and bullying from his supporters. And, the value of the Canadian dollar dropping didn’t help either. Probably won’t go back until he is gone (however long that takes). Did our grocery shopping on the weekend and checked our labels to make sure we did not buy anything made in the US.
