Thank you, Lisa, for saying that. I’ve received some incredibly hurtful comments from other Canadian citizens. I honestly believe I speak for the majority of Americans when I say we are appalled and disgusted by what our government is doing to us and to the countries we’ve considered to be our allies for many years. We’re in the fight of our lives to rid our country of the festering virus that is currently occupying the White House, fighting for our jobs, healthcare, freedom of speech, fighting against the racial injustices, etc. I pray we will one day be able to restore our relationships with Canada and the other great nations our government has alienated.
I am so sorry you have received hurtful comments. I think the vast majority of Canadians do not hold the majority of the American people responsible and we know you are as disgusted as we are. I am heart broken that you have to endure this but I do believe that when we all stand together, we can fight this and America will be in a better place at the end of this. That is my hope and prayer!

Toss them asap and continue focusing on what is vital and important. Understand that toxicity expressed by others is only a symptom of their own deep, dark, unresolved issues--and has nothing whatsoever to do with you.
I've reminded more than a few that they need to recognize their insults and jabs have zero effect on me and others who don't know them or respect them. You know your worth. Neanderthals don't know you or themselves very well. They operate out of fear and desperation and lashing out at others which (as we know) changes nothing.
Carry on and thank you for choosing to be a teacher. Ya'll are next to God in our home. 💙💞💙

Remember, too, do not respond to hateful comments—ever. Block the
sender and anyone else who decides to contact you. You are not subject to their jibes so don’t feel like you have to defend yourself. You do not.
