I'm here with Charlie Angus, Canadian Member of Parliament. Charlie, Donald Trump has declared economic warfare or warfare in general, however you want to classify it, on Canada, on Mexico, elsewhere. I want to check in with you and get your response on this all.

SPEAKER 1
Well, we saw this morning Donald Trump saying that the tariffs against our country were going to stay on until we cease to exist as a nation. That is a line in the sand that has been drawn, and we understand what that means. Last night, our Prime Minister spoke to the Canadian people, and on Saturday nights in Canada,

people are out at the bars. They're watching the hockey game, but people were watching their screens last night because they wanted to get the message. Is this a moment when we all stand up and defend our nation? And it was a pretty clear message. I was proud of the prime minister, but I'm hearing it from people.

In a new interview with MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas, Canadian Member of Parliament Charlie Angus didn’t mince words when responding to Donald Trump’s latest stunt: slapping Canada with a reckless 25% tariff. Angus framed Trump’s move as nothing short of “economic warfare,” and made it clear that Canada isn’t backing down. “We’re ready to fight, ready to battle, ready to take on the predator—Donald Trump,” Angus declared, highlighting a rare unity among Canadian political leaders, cultural icons, and everyday citizens rallying against an attack on Canada’s sovereignty.

Angus didn’t stop there. Speaking directly to Trump and his MAGA loyalists, he blasted the former president’s fragile ego and destructive policies, contrasting them with the global solidarity forming against authoritarianism. “Trump may think he’s king of the chaos, but Canadians know how to stand together when faced with a bully,” Angus said. As Trump’s tariffs threaten to backfire economically, Angus’s message is loud and clear: Canada won’t be intimidated by a has-been reality star trying to play dictator—and they have a plan to fight back and cause Trump pain in the process.
