After I read your comment to mine, I looked up this one. Well said! I didn’t see this before I posted mine but see we’re saying similar things. I appreciate Meidas, but believe they are a bit naive and too positive. Or maybe I am too negative, but I think we’re already a dictatorship and am not sure we can recover.

However, I will keep resisting as I can. I contribute financially as I can, attend rallies, bring others, stay informed, write postcards, make phone calls, volunteer with local Dems and Indivisible. Am 89 years old with physical limitations.
If we were truly under a dictatorship, do you believe we would be able to talk on this forum? Do you believe that this forum would exist?
Just because we are under attack does not mean that we are under the attacker's rule. We are not. You said you resist all you can. Well under a dictatorship you would not be able to do that and you would be arrested if you did.
Hang on to the fact that we are still under a Democracy under attack because we can still fight today! We are still "FREE" today. We still have the Constitution on our side today, regardless of what the enemy is doing in their camp. Their camp may be out there for all to see, and their battle plan published on the Internet, but that is in our favor. We are still free today and today we can still fight back. That's not an option in a dictatorship.
I agree with your assessment above, BTW. Well-intentioned. A bit naive.
I don’t believe we are “already there” yet on the fascism, but dangerously close. As much as I detest the Conservative agenda, I don’t think they are ready for a full-on Fascism. I do think they are naive about their own goals and how perilous they are. Maybe I give them too much credit.
On my most optimistic days, I’m heartened by SCOTUS losing their infatuation with Trump (all but 2). I wait for a serious crackdown from them, hopefully soon. I do think the deporting of hostages may tip the scales when people realize that could be done to any of us, as well.
Like you, I’m ‘up there’ in age (80) and I'm on SS only. I attended protests and use my keyboard to state my positions. And sadly I revel in the thought that we have seen the best days America has ever afforded us.

Thanks for your insightful comment.

Naive and positive??? You’re kidding?
I don’t mind their positivity, we need that encouragement. But I do think all the positivity of Kamala worked against her.
