My dad was in Europe when he was shot in the back and became a 100% disabled vet. He got hand controls on a car, one of the first in the US. My mother was a nurse in the VA hospital in Memphis at the end of WWII and that's where she met my father. The only thing that man could not do was get up and walk. He was a paraplegic so he had use of his upper body.He died in 1968 between my Jr and Sr year of high school. My mom died in 2018 and hated the orange hitler. I am sure both are rolling over in their graves with what is happening here now.

So many stories of bravery, & conviction. But my father only shared the funny stuff. Never the gruesome.

That was typical of the veterans from that era.
