I live in Australia and I still cannot believe that Trump has hoodwinked so many people into accepting this garbage he is spinning.

I grew up in Southern California and I am beyond angry that the felonTACO47 has decided to use our community as a testing ground to implement his fascist wet dream of subjugating citizens under the lie of “criminal immigrants “ coming to harm us. He thinks we are all stupid like his cult followers and believe his BS. I will not be subjugated to bend my knee to a convicted felon, sexual assaulter, and a conman.

I understand. I grew up in the suburbs of LA. Currently live farther out away from LA county in a mountain community. We had a scary fire in September and had to evacuate for 18 days with mutts and a senior cat. It was extremely difficult. No one is truly ready for a disaster, however during fire season we keep essential records ready to go in case. It’s a different way of life up here. Unfortunately my representative is a republican and does nothing to stand up to the felon(sorry I can’t say his name). During the LA fires he was partying with the felon at MaraLardo so we understand where his priorities are. Why people keep voting for him and other useless republican candidates is a mystery to me. He has a large constituency of seniors, low income families and obviously he doesn’t care. So it’s time to vote all republicans out of office.

Nice to “meet” you neighbor. I’m sorry about the fire. It has been sooo sad. I’m in Los Feliz/Hollywood and evacuated but luckily the Sunset fire broke the pattern and was put out soon. I am sick to death over what is happening and this inability to penetrate the ears or souls of MAGA. You’d think we could all agree that Dictatorship is bad. I saw one commenter’s old comments and he was just thrilled to “own” the presidency, house and senate and yes, judiciary. I guess that’s why it’s OK in their mind to make July 4th Tyranny Day.

Hello neighbor! I have fond memories of Pasadena/Altadena. I went to school at PCC and used to go to Hastings Ranch with my family to view the Christmas lights in all the neighborhoods. I worked at Robinsons-May Department store in Pasadena during college. So my heart was broken watching the devastating fires take those neighborhoods down in Altadena. To see the magat/republican garbage people cheering the ICE gestapo on disgusts me. The cult of TACO47 is really a fascist/racist continuation,I believe, of the confederacy grievances that have existed since our war between the states. The cult is a combination of bigotry that is generational and misogyny that wants a return to white male dominance. It’s regressive and not sustainable in the long run. So take care and stay safe to all of you and keep those protesting now in our hearts.

Yes heartbreaking. First the election and then fires -- in the year that my beloved dog died -- has made life excruciating really. It's less about today than what is NEXT, and then NEXT. They have this whole storyline rolling out... the plot points keep coming. Indeed, this is my standard boilerplate to MAGA online - one of them anyway: MAGA has sold you racism, misogyny, homophobia, hatred of highly educated, of climate improvements, of artists… where will you be when there is no one left to hate and annihilate and you are left with just your inhumanity? Impoverished inside and out and as popular as Nazis in a post Hitler world.

And truly sorry about your loss. Our pets are part of our family and losing them is hard. I used to watch a show years ago about an animal rescue ranch that would honor their lost loved ones (whatever animal it was) by hanging wind chimes up in their trees with the belief that the animals were “ communicating with the wind “. So now we hang wind chimes in our trees for our pets that we have lost to remember them.

Your comment is so true and honest about the false ideology of the magat movement. Mostly based on conspiracy theories and propaganda, they wouldn’t recognize reality if it smacked them upside their heads.

Don't be so afraid that you don't join in a protest. That would bee playing right into trumps hands.

Oh no chance of me not protesting! I've been to two protests in L.A. just since March - on a recovering broken foot stood no less - stood five hours to see Bernie and AOC. It was CATHARTIC. Went to DC in 2016 and, side note, came upon white nationalist RICHARD SPENCER and got him to admit he was a white supremacist immediately after he denied it. Then my image of him being punched made the viral round courtesy of someone lifting it from my footage. I will be out protesting this SATURDAY. Very loudly. And I will not stop protesting, toe or no toe. :) I am also posting ad nauseum everywhere I can - it's the least I can do to show unity - visibility/voice is the most important tool we have.

That’s the spirit that made America fight for it’s democracy in the first place! You keep doing good ALF! The entire world respects a person who shows strength in the face of oppression.

Thank you so much! Appreciate the support! I was thisclose to abandoning all passion projects for the year to turn attention on this via a political comedy YouTube show but my mental health can't pull the trigger on that yet. I'm not superhuman. This crap is heartbreaking. All the more reason I am just so grateful to those who ARE doing it like Meidas. It is so needed. I keep battling internally with "omg, Democracy is falling and here I am doing my silly videos." I imagine soon I'll have to abandon and take that step.

Do what you to do for your mental health, but abandoning your principals will only make matters worse! You know this deep in your heart. Keep fighting any inclination to just say “to hell with it” because there are others just like you that are feeling the pressure too. As long as they know they aren’t doing this alone, that is the best medicine. Bravo ALF!

Nobody in THE WORLD can believe it. Only in America could this kind of political evangelism take place. America USED to be the richest and most powerful country in the world, yet they couldn't take care of their own citizens in regards to health care! This backlash is because they have failed with the basic needs of governing. That's how trump got a toehold into politics. Making promises he had no intention of keeping!

I taught History and English in Australia. When my students were researching for assignments, I would tell rely on Australian newspapers alone as they are all owned by the same people. I had the Washington Post as a back up. I no longer have a membership. I now have the Atlantic. Many years ago when Netanyahu first became Prime Minister, I told my students that we would never see peace in the Middle East and he has proved me right.

I saw him once on The Apprentice and I cannot believe anyone with an ounce of intelligence could vote for him. His entire campaign told you what he intended to do and he started on day 1. Barely 6 months into his regime and you already have jackboots on the street
