I could not understand why the president of South Africa came to meet with Trump. Every world leader needs to stay away from him. They need to ostracize him. He is a monster. Don’t give him one second of your time. Ignore him. Laugh at him. He hates that.

He went out of his way to be demeaning. But, the South African president rebuffed his evil with true grace.

FeministAnger's avatar

Maybe true grace is not the way to go. Our president is a bully, a lunatic, a narcissist, and a sadist. Maybe the only thing he really understands is a verbal punch in the face. Just a thought.

In the Oval Office?? Ramaphosa was a class act. He came with White Male (sexist trumpverse) backup to Trump’s claims. Ramaphosa faced the bully down on his own Oval Office turf. Trump hit Ramaphosa up for a plane. Then the best Trump could do was yell at the NBC reporter repeatedly. Because that’s what bullies do when they get faced down in public!!!

I would have rather seen him tell trump that we didn't come here to hear your lies and then walked out.

I know, so tempting..... but Ramaphosa is a true gentleman & statesman and got even in his own way.

I know, but I wanted to see tRump put down on camera. He's so good at doing it to everyone with his false facts and lies, that I just wanted to see the tables turned in a big way. Ramaphosa's face said it all, but I was being selfish and wanted more. I'm so tired of seeing trump and his goonies treating others so badly. In my 83 years, I have never seen anyone acting like this in any situation. He is repulsive.

Someone needs to ask him to step outside, one on one. Notice how he doesn't take anyone on alone? He has to have his tag team, bobble-head backups to bail him out, just like he's done all his life. A cowardly, worthless piece of dung who should have no power over anyone.

Ramaphosa has always had a very pleasant demeanor and for the most part, is a very likable guy - unless you're a white racist Afrikaner, that is.

Hopefully he will now see just how "productive" that sort of meeting is and will stay away from ANY future contact. (btw, I won't be surprised if the horrendous & disgusting images shown in this post start appearing more obviously across our own country, gratis those for whom no level is too low for spreading hatred of other people. ALL of this is NOT WHO WE ARE!!! I am so sick to my stomach.)

Then the UK needs to rescind the invitation for the Felon meeting the King. That's a start. I hate to think we need to be isolated. But, we need to be isolated. Perhaps without an audience? That won't work - he's so abject, for him, any publicity is good publicity.

Yes Carol-Ann, the King of England meeting with Trump, how disgusting.

It serves no purpose other than to stroke Trump's hugely oversized ego.

The Prime Minister was trying to get Trump on board with helping Ukraine. As that ship appears to have sailed, the invitation for the second state visit with the king should be withdrawn.

That's why it won't work. As long as he is in the world's eye, be it good or bad - demented enough to not care whether it's good or bad, just that it's publicity.

It would be worth the isolation, I agree.

Maybe you don't understand how international relations work? National leaders meet with each other as a matter of courtesy and to further their own interests. No competent national leader would decline an audience with the leaders of, e.g., the U.S. or China, and probably a representative of the European Union.

Expand full comment
FeministAnger's avatar

Really, international leaders would meet with a malignant narcissist, sociopath, and expect to get something out of the lying lunatic? To me the fact that he loves to humiliate whoever visits him in the White House proves that any normal person would stay the hell away from that monster.

FeministAnger's avatar

Oh, and the condescending way that you leave the comment just proves to me that you really are out of touch with the sadist.

Expand full comment
Susanna J. Sturgis's avatar

And you may be a bit out of touch with how international relations and diplomacy work. The U.S. continues to be a powerful force in the world, and *the* most powerful force in the so-called "free world." Diplomacy and international relations aren't (and shouldn't be) primarily about personalities, though of course personalities matter. And international relations continue to matter regardless of what party (or parties) or what people are in power in which particular country. Snubbing the U.S. would be a serious diplomatic mistake for any country other than China, Russia, and countries in their orbits. Speaking truth to power, however, as Ramaphosa and Zelenskyy did, is far more effective because it's (as the old saying goes) "heard round the world."

FeministAnger's avatar

That is a mouthful. You must be living under a rock. Trump is the international destroyer. The only way to handle him is to ignore him. The whole Republican Party is tainted by his lunacy. You can blah blah blah all you want, but all international leaders need to stay away from him.
