Though the Washington Post is my "hometown paper", I am seriously considering unsubscribing, especially after the editorial shift just dictated by Bezos. What a terrible shame this has happened to a once great newspaper.
I either subscribed or read (at the library sometimes years ago) to the Wa Po for well over 50 years and I cancelled my subscription and will not click on any stories that show up on Yahoo that has the WaPo as a source. Very sad day for me when I cancelled sort of like a part of me was, well, gone. But it had to be done. I hope you udo the same. Their reporting is not to be trusted, so why support them?
I unsubscribed. I keep getting offers for a reduced rate. Nope. Hey why read WA Post, when we have MeidasTouch, Ron Filipkowski and so many others here at Substack, right?
I hear you and certainly understand. Sadly, the WaPo is my тАЬhometown paperтАЭ, along with the Annapolis тАЬCrapitolтАЭ. I may subscribe to the Baltimore Banner, as it is not owned by insane billionaires, but I donтАЩt live in Baltimore, so there is that. I do mostly rely on the Meidas Touch+ Network for news about this administration, however, along with posts and YouTube videos by Brian Tyler Cohen, and the affiliates for the MTN+.
Yes, the plethora of good sources of journalistic and legal information on Substack, and on YouTube, are godsends in this era of disinformation and propaganda from "legacy" news sources. If not for these, I might have gone mad long since (and I mean "mad" as in "insane")
Ron Filipkowski's daily updates are a must read. Otherwise, I would be losing my mind ... more than I am already. I just can't devour the news like I used to before the election.
I get my news from TMT+, Brian Tyler Cohen, Marc elias and others. The only reason I keep the WaPo is because it's my "hometown" paper...but as time progresses, I maystill cancel my subscription. I am already finding alternative shopping venues than Amazon, and am likely to do the same with my news sources soon. Voting with my dollars...
WaPo is daily losing any sense of credibility. And readership. For me, it's now if only for a laugh.

Brian Tyler Cohen is great. I can't really listen to all the really good journalists on Substack. It's great that we have many to choose from now.
