Thank you, at 73 I was stressed and confused with all media info

But thank God my daughter suggested MTN and now I’m more relaxed and can understand the truth of what is going on🥰💯

Women will save our sacred democracy. Chuck Schumer and the old white men need to go. The Democrats need to elevate more diverse BIPOC female-identifying voices: https://democracydefender2025.substack.com/p/women-will-save-our-democracy

‼️ 💯 ‼️ those old white men are bought and paid for too! Schmer, Jeffries and their ilk are all in for the money. We need term limits and finance reform!

I cannot agree that Mr. Schumer and Mr. Jeffries are "in it for the money". That would be the GOP.

Why did Mr. Schumer change his mind? What incentives did he receive?

Anna B's avatar

Schumer is just too old and still expects our legislature to work like it did 20+ yrs. ago. He needs to step down from leadership and make way for someone truly dynamic.

$$$ in all likelihood.

Possibly Schumer has played both sides for years and just can't get on board with the need to really fight for decency. Old habits die hard.

But they ARE like the GOP: they're all politicians, not "public servants" or "defenders of the Constitution."

In 1995 SCOTUS stated that no state could term limit members of Congress. Their reasoning was that a mechanism(voting)to accomplish that already exists

SCOTUS is not Wise much as they want to be seen that way. They are mired in legalese and do not see issues the way the public does.

Call Chuck Schumer's voicemail right now, and tell him to vote NO on the CR!

(202)224-6542

If he gets deluged with calls and emails maybe he'll think twice. It just takes seconds to do. Don't wait for the other guy.

I’m kind of hopeful about Joanie Ernst, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins who at times have shown more cojones than the men.

Dik de Bruijn's avatar

Susan Collins? Please read about her giving Trump a pass -- "he learned his lesson" -- voting for Kavanaugh, etc. Collins is just another politician, willing and eager to do anything to keep her job.

And Joanie Ernst isn't better either.

Totally agree. Spineless men need to go.

How about spineless women? Plenty of them in Congress as well.

How many women voted for Trump? How many people of color voted for Trump? Trump wasn't elected solely by old (or young) white men, but by the combined effort of people of all colors, genders, religions . . .

Don’t relax today Phyllis. Read MaryTrump.org article, THE LAST STAND for details and call or write Schumer’s office and every dem or Repub with a brain. The continuing resolution will make the chaos legal. Schumer.senate.gov has lots of ways to contact him. Call Capitol Hill switchboard 202-224-3121 but I bet it will be playing music so call his dc office 202-224-6542 or a local office listed on the website.

I finally got a voice mail at the DC number. It was turned off last night and I did send an email. Don't worry, I am not remotely relaxed!

And like so many other members of Congress, no one will answer the phone and his mailbox is full so you can't leave a message

Call a local office. Schumer has a bunch of them. Schumer.senate.gov

Or email from the website.
