Well, I have to agree that the electoral system in the USA is really weird- difficult to understand and easy to manipulate. I wouldn't actually call it "progressive" to want to change it. I suspect that once again money and power is at the bottom of all the reluctance to change.
JMHO, but America needs people in public office who will not rubberstamp the Israeli government 's inhumane destruction of civil society in Gaza.
We ought to be able to ask hard questions about any government to which we government billions of dollars of foreign aid.
We also need to overturn Citizens United and get PACS of all kinds out of the business of buying politicians.

Therefore, for the life of me, I can't understand what for was that "Arabs and Muslims for Trump" movement last year centered in Michigan.
