I love cursing and it’s one of my great talents that’s coming quite in handy right now. The other talent I’ve got is I’m a published research historian so I’m good at knowing stuff. Turns out cursing and knowing stuff are two great weapons against fascist morons.

LOL Charlotte, LOL!

I enjoyed your comment.

Honestly I think the BEST RESISTORS are gathered here on Meidas Touch Network.

Look at my forum icon, do you see the little + sign on the bottom right? That + sign indicates a paid subscriber. Scroll the comments look at the icons, look and see how many of us have that little + sign on our forum icon. A LOT of us.

A paid subscription to Meidas Touch is only $10 a month (cancel at any time).

Your, and my, and everybody else's $10 month is the wind beneath MTN wings.

If you can, please become a paid subscriber and send them a little puff of air, which when joined with all the other little puffs of air from all the other subscribers, becomes a mighty jet stream, the wind beneath their wings lifting them, soaring higher and higher, gaining more and more influence and visibility.

Become a paid subscriber, only $10 a month (cancel at any time) and become the wind beneath MTN's wings. If you do, you will feel good about it.

You will feel good about it

This is random, but can I tell you something? Abney is my middle name. I have never, ever seen anyone else with that name! My great-great grandmother's maiden name was Abney. Hello, distant relative!

Hello. My dad's family is from Kansas. I looked up Jennifer Abney on social media a while back and there are at least 13 of us, including a news broadcaster. Where are you from? Oregon here. :)

I never used to curse, except for shit or damn once in a while.. It wasn't ladylike. (I'm 83). Now it has become so familiar - like a second language. My mother, if she were here, would have the bar of soap handy for the mouth washing. On second thought, she would probably join me.

Those were the only 2 curse words I used to use occasionally. Now my three daughters, all 50+, are trying to get used to the stronger ones coming out of my mouth.

I’m 81 and I’m right there with you but I can’t say it’s anything new. It’s just getting more colorful as I age. A co-worker years ago accused me of learning to talk at the Navy’s truck driver school….

Judy, me too, me too. I rarely cursed on social media, rarely.

But whenever Trump is in power I just can't help myself, no other NON curse words describe what he is doing. Mostly I use EFF, but when I am really outraged, I will let the full F word fly.

Charlotte, you're my spirit animal. I LOVE CURSING 🤬 TOO!!! LOL.. It just gets the point across so good.. and let's people know how disappointed, angry, dismayed you are with them. People tend to be on alert and listen when you throw a cuss here and there. 😂🥳

I genuinely don't understand why grown adults get so offended by cussing. It's ridiculous. You know what's offensive to me? Every single thing the Trump administration does.

I completely agree. My education is helping and cursing gets the attention, but WTF is the only way to describe our country sometimes. Most of the time.

I'm still figuring out how to use my voice on this platform but I do plan on posting little mini history lessons here that can help us understand the times we live in right now. I am an educator in higher education and my book is forthcoming with Edinburgh University Press. This book is the product of ten years of research and work and, if I do say myself, it makes a fascinating case about the origins of industrialized consumer capitalism in circa 1700 Scotland. If you're interested in learning some more about our society's history, please consider following me. If you're interested in learning more about Scottish history or the British Atlantic World, follow me.
