all I've got to say is if they are going to drop nuclear bombs on the US, please drop them on the red states. The blue states are NOT behind Trump's war.

i would imagine it would. I would never live in a red state, particularly Tx or oklahoma. they're the worst, they're insanely red. We have trumpers here in NY, even NYC including my own son in law (Geez, he went to Columbia U so i don't understand) but they are vastly outnumbered by blue people, so mostly behave themselves.

In general we are. a lot of people say we're rude but actually, we're not it's jsut that we are always in a hurry. there are trains we're trying to catch or busess or meetings we need to get to on time and getting around the city can be a hassle. If you're willing to talk and walk at the same time, we're very friendly. as someone not originally from NY and an army brat, i always go out of my way to ask people who look lost if they need help. They generally do. It's fun to meet tourists and a challenge as many don't speak English. See me trying to give directions in French!!

During migration we see swans and geese and lots of ducks. One time there were even some pelicans lol Sometimes sea gulls are seen flying around in town.

It does seem a natural request, but it is quite like the desire to keep air pollution in a confined space and not help the neighboring states whose health often suffers: We're in this mess together, and demonizing (not in this post, but for those who go in for that approach) any adversary will not resolve the problem.

Demonizing, name-calling and bullying are often the tactics of

maga people, but not negotiating, which takes skills and tactful consideration. Pres. Zelensky has those character traits, as we all saw.

Me too! I'd love some feed back from some military experts about what would be likely targets if Iran or one of their allies wanted to bomb the US. I live in a rural area about 75 miles from a large military base that trains around 80,000 active duty military personnel every year. Do they have lots of anti bomb stuff that prevents them from being bombed? Would bombing them impact me directly? I have no idea about any of that stuff. Is there reason to bomb where I am? We have pretty much no industry, mostly just cows and trees.

Expand full comment
Kristina Dunn's avatar

I’ve sat here since he bombed Iran and thought the same thing. Which targets would Iran pick or would it just be like 9/11 and sleep cells going active? I’m gonna Google if there is anything around me that could possibly be targeted. I know I’m not too far from Oak Ridge. I’m also super close to a facility that makes C4 and stuff for bombs so that’s scary. Eastman chemical company also. Geez I have sat here and scared myself. I pray for you and your loved ones. My son did basic at Parris Island to become a Marine. I honestly don’t know though and would love an answer from someone in the intelligence agency that actually knows what they’re talking about. 🤗

At least in this hour it sounds like there is a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, but no one seems to know what that really means. I don't think anyone in the entire world believes anything trump says (the GOP Congress doesn't believe him but support him anyway because what matters is that trump said it, not what he said or did/does). But I have to wonder if Iran is just going to forget and forgive what the US did...and then again I'm not sure what they did....seems like trump told Iran we were coming so they moved everything an there was no loss of life and then Iran told us they were coming so everyone was moved out of the Qatar base and there was no loss of live and not even any damage since the Iranian bombs were intercepted. Weirder and Weirder, but at this moment looks like no American troops in harms way.

There are increasing numbers of blue and purple in those red states. I get the anger at maga, however there are many of us fighting to turn our states more democratic. We have to fight the gerrymandering and the total discouragement it is creating in people. People have to get involved and fight to vote while we still can. And if the right to vote disappears it'll be up to all of us to get in the fight and insist however we need to. This country does not belong to just 30-35% of these disgruntled and totally irresponsible magas!!!
