They should have thought about it before the day of the election instead of the day after. This is what uninformed people who don't really give a damn about who is in the White House do to everyone in the country. They just should have stayed home, Harris would have won & we wouldn't have the constant chaos & lawlessness that is coming once again for another 4 years.

How Musk bought his presidency for $240 million?

Expand full comment
Adrianne's avatar

And the courts ordered Musk to return $56B to I believe Teska stockholders. And a judgement of $134M he must pay in court costs/legal fees.

I wonder if he used Trump's play book of "delay, delay, delay"?

I read that and was happy to hear that. He wanted $56 billion in pay?! Is f’n serious?! He’s worth 330 billion. He isn’t too bright.

Expand full comment
Sal Teodoro's avatar

The $56 billion was what he was going to pay himself and I’m pretty sure that was from this year. The 4th quarter. I think the shareholders filed the suit to put a stop to it.

I’m not 100% sure of the date but I think it was for his current pay. I have to look that up.

Whilke I'd like to think elTrumpo cheated his way to second election, I don't think he did. But, his loyal MAGA-heads (the blue-collar, many white guys, mostly unpaid) will soon learn Trump will do many things that will hurt them (cut Obama care, tariffs, possibly remove the enhanced standard deduction, and on and on).

I just don’t understand how normal people can just forget about J6. That’s why I believe he cheated. Elon Musk switched the votes he even said he could hack them easily. Many blue voters in swing states have no record of their ballots being counted.

Your commentr about vote having been counted or not made me go to my county's website here in Florida (a v red place). I see that my vote was counted (assuming I can believe the Supevisor of Elections website). Yes, perhaps everyone shold check on this. And I afgree with yoyu about J6.

Unfortunately, “normal people” aren’t just Democrat or Republican or Independent. They’re just “normal” according to their beliefs and druthers. Forgetting about J6 and doubts about counting, a majority of voters chose to vote Republican(MAGA?). That set the norm for this election. "Normal people" elected tRump, and there was no cheating. The other “normal people” are challenged to elect their accordance.

I cannot forget that normal not only means sane, but also takes into account a pattern of behavior considered acceptable by a majority of a social group. Today in our country, the normal consensus, from the electorate to Congress to the Supreme Court of the United States, has elected and supports the President-elect, irregardless of whether he is or isn’t considered a racist, a classist, misogynist or xenophobic individual. We cannot shut our ears, eyes or hearts and hopes to another and unique challenge to the survival and continued success of our experiment with a democratic republic, the longest surviving and most successful attempt in history. It isn’t easy. It never has nor ever will be. Nonetheless and all the more, the spirit and history of America not only has the wherewithal but also the gumption to survive and thrive, and to invite our family of nations join us in working for our children’s tomorrows.

I I haven’t and won’t forgive the millions of registered Democrats who didn’t vote. They gave lip service, but for one reason or another decided it wasn’t worth their time. I believe (no hard evidence, just my opinion based on life experience) that many were not “comfortable” with a female candidate, and other prejudices you mentioned. Sadly I don’t believe they see themselves as partially responsible for this fiasco of another Trump admin.

When the 'good' news is that the Wall Street Journal is making him mad, that's sad. Murdoch is fickle and tomorrow could easily be kissing his ass again. I don't see anything like this offering a blueprint. The Democrats are basically completely screwed right now, and only time will tell if an unscrewing is possible. If it is, I think it's pretty unlikely that legacy media will be a helpful tool. They are just too corrupt to be trusted. And haven't we been betrayed enough yet?
