I am so glad I am now living in New York. I moved up here from South Carolina where Lyndsey Graham is respected. I would send him weekly emails telling him what a dirtbag he is. I'm sure my emails were deleted. I am proud of the representatives here who are fighting for us - the hard working American people. The oligarchs would have nothing without us. I am not purchasing anything other than groceries and food for my cats and horse. I have already closed my Amazon account. I am seriously thinking of trading my iPhone in for a Samsung phone and closing all Apple accounts. There are things we the people can do and that is by hitting the oligarchs in their pockets.

Amazon is the only one left on my list to cancel out. I had so many things on auto-ship because it's convenient in my rural setting, I didn't think I could do it, but I'm finding that what I was ordering is available directly from the companies; no need to go through Amazon. Readiness for the Feb 28 boycott is looking good!

Good for you! I've avoided Amazon almost from the get-go because they stole/co-opted the name of Amazon Bookstore in Minneapolis (I'm a former feminist bookseller) and because the rise of the billionaires, including Bozo, was becoming more and more dangerous. I live in a small-town area with no chain stores in the vicinity, so over the years I've sought out alternatives to Amazon, Walmart, and the other behemoths. It does take a little work and a little patience (like do I ever really *need* overnight delivery? <g>) but supporting small- to mid-size businesses is so worth it.

Me too! Amazon is a thing of the past. Like you, I found it convenient to buy from them. But I have sourced products I use elsewhere. And it feels good!🇨🇦

I still have Amazon. I live in a small town and some items are hard to get without driving miles into a big city. Also, Amazon employs a lot of people who will need that income soon. Plus it houses small businesses who would not be able to sell to as many people without Amazon.

I live rural as well. It pained me to think of people who would suffer due to job loss at Amazon. However..by buying elsewhere, jobs will open up in those places. And I take comfort that other businesses will need to hire workers.

People shouldn't cut off their nose despite their face .yes I agree on that point.

I used to spend around 700.00 a month at Amazon. No lie. My last order came in yesterday..which was nothing really, just very slow in coming

I have done a very good job sourcing the product I used to buy from amazon. And I am and will continue to be happy with my decision. My last straw was seeing bozo cozy up to ump at his inauguration....

Hate to say it but the whole "we must discern what's best for us" is how we got here. Thinking of society as a whole is what is best for us. I have very little money but yet and going to suffer because it is the right thing to do for all. One must sacrifice in order for all to benefit.

Buy nothing February 28th and beyond that is not essential for survival. I will start using cash again to deny credit card companies their profits, I have cut all unnecessary subscriptions/services etc. I think that putting the screws to the economy/oligarchs may hurt employment etc. but something has to stop this runaway train toward our dictatorship/oligarchy/theocracy.

Even before 47 2.0 started I put into effect an underconsumption budget and in preparation for my leaner retirement in 5 years. Trying to see if I can live on that fixed income. I’m on a ‘buy nothing but food and gas’ 1 year challenge right now. I slipped up and bought a book last week but am plugging away.

Financially, I’m banking through a credit union where 100% of my paycheck comes in and goes out — necessary living expenses, retirement funds, and cash for food and gas. Keeping debit card at home and cc’s at zero balance. One credit card in my wallet for emergencies. Not using them for anything anymore — even the slimy ‘rewards’.

No Amazon. No social media. Nothing.

Check out the app ‘Goods Unite Us’ to help with decision about where you spend your money.

WOW! This person really gets it. Put a crimp in the profits of monolithic, conglomerate businesses.

If they see their profits decreasing, they will fire people, yes-a temporary problem but labor shortages will help them get another job, BUT they must lower prices, change their PR, divest companies they own etc.

I'm using cash now whenebver I can-no credit cards. That should lower prices because businesses pay credit card companies a fee.

I'm changing my banking to credit unions which guarantees their deposits themselves and doesn't depend on FDIC, which has come to trump/Musk attention as a way to cut government spending.

I hope you’re doing well. I feel the same and now trying yo shift towards supporting "life aggirming" action. So today I supported children and read the dangers they face in "family court." I just wanted tonrefuce suffering of children. Children will suffer from the violence in the world. Generations traumatized by systemic violence also called epigenetics.

I see Warren Buffet sold his Apple stock (also Bank of America, Wells Fargo and other stocks, including JP Morgan Chase); Buffet now holds a lot more cash than usual, which he's investing in short term T-bills. Looks like a bad sign for what's to come in our financial markets.

Called Apple tech support for a question about an Apple device; the first thing on their recorded message went something like this: "Please be nice to our advisors." This was new. Had to wait a total of 1.75 hours to get someone who could help. I was very polite to her, but couldn't resist unloading about my disappointment that Tim Cook paid millions to the orange monkey and attended the coronation. Told her it was a disgrace and that I'd never buy an iPhone because Apple lost all my trust in one day -- and it will take years to earn it back, if ever. I suspect I wasn't the only one complaining given her responses.

The oligarchs have so much money that you can't "hit them in their pockets." Their hedge funds, off-shore accounts -- does anyone have Swiss accounts any more? -- stock portfolios, massive real estate holdings, etc., all shield them from economic harm. If your moral compass tells you to stop buying Amazon or Apple, by all means, do so, but realize that you won't be hurting the oligarchs. I wasted hundreds of dollars supporting Blue candidates across the U.S., knowing the money would be wasted, but I did it for my conscience. And by the way, are you sure Samsung is worthy of your business? Or are they also members of the oligarchy?
