Maybe due to my age, 74, 2026 seems far in the future. I hope that there is an election that reflects the voice of voters, not subject to manipulation.
As a young child, to answer my question, my mother explained why Freddy the Grocer and his wife have blue numbers on their arm. From that point I promised to not be silent when I saw injustice.

I'm 66, so I understand what you mean, although in my case it's just sadness understanding how long it takes to rebuild after a crisis. But I have to do what I can even if I don't get to see the result.
I grew up as the white kid watching how my black neighbors got treated in the 60s. I have not stood down during my life either, and I'm not about to now. Fwiw, my uncle was one of the troops that liberated a camp, and he would never speak of it. He was traumatized just by seeing what others had suffered. I won't disgrace his memory by failing now either. We've already started down the path of evil by having an offshore concentration camp. I refuse to call it a "prison".
