My father's family is one of the FFV, First Families of Virginia and has been here since at least 1716 (that's as early as I can trace back). I happen to be a naturalized Canadian citizen because I am the daughter of a Canadian citizen. So am I a first generation immigrant? Or a 10th immigration citizen? If I am the daughter of a Canadian citizen born in the US, does that make my citizenship a birthright citizenship even though my father was an American citizen? If I were picked u for speeding or just coming across the border ICE folks would have no idea about my heritage since I sure look to be all American..no reason to suspect I might be a birthright American.
