Because I suffer from lifelong anxiety and depression, I’ve needed to avoid any political content since 11/5. I contributed till it hurt and exhorted everyone in my large family to honor the legacy of my Suffragette grandmother and vote, even though we all live in various blue states. I’m an old civil rights, Vietnam War, women’s rights protester. But I am slowly accepting the big picture that the need for class struggle has reached a new level of necessity. So I am tiptoeing back into to the MTN community to find strength and perseverance and hopefully a new vision. We must carry on!💙☮️🌈

It's hard. Take breaks and always take care of yourself first and then gear up again. I have turned off all notifications except for MeidasTouch and Simon Rosenberg. I cancelled LA Times and WA Post. They keep sending me emails offering me discount after discount. I subscribe to NY Times for games only and even they sent me a discount offer for their news. Nope. I became a paid subscriber here. Stepping away for me, didn't give me the peace I thought it would give me. So, here I am. Oh yes, I deleted Twitter/X account. Be well. 💙

I am staying on X and reply to at least five to ten stupid comments and lies.

It takes time and patience, but we have to fight on all sides!

I deleted the app but I can still use my browser to go read and comment. I have a secret name so I don't lose anymore friends....but they are on the red side so I don't really care. Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Gnite, past my bedtime

I had two accounts on Twitter and I deleted both of them months ago, every click is money for Musk and I’m not giving him any money, not one cent, there are other options on social media.

I deleted my Twitter account, when trump won the first time. It was such garbage anyhow, and I got so bored with all the moronic trash talk.

I'm a Meidas Touch Network fan, from here, on out. They are my only source now, for the truth 💙💙💙💙💙💙

Does Elon really get money every time someone gets on Twitter? So glad I deleted the account.

It is called “ engagement “, advertisers see that , the more engagement the more they advertise stuff , that is why I deleted my accounts, I support only things that I personally consider important, like the Meidas Touch and Counter Social , if you haven’t tried Counter Social you should, there are many perks , we have there “ Alfred “, that is an AI program, we had it way before Twitter had “ Grok”, we have movie nights , breaking news and more .

Wow. Here I thought I was in the loop. No idea about Grok and I thought Alfred was Batman's faithful butler. I am still easing back in to apps. Deleted Facebook years ago and zI am rarely on Instagram. I am starting to go to Bluesky occasionally but I suspect it will turn into another Twitter - hope I am wrong. Thank you for the info.

Yes, Alfred is the name of Batman’s butler, but there in Counter Social we have fun , we talk about serious issues in a funny way, and we are way ahead of everybody else, the owner is a former hacker so he knows what is going on.

LOL. Yes, I was joking about Alfred. Thank you.

I couldn't do it. We all have to be true to ourselves. For me, the ugly, racist comments and Elon Musk owning it, got me to quit it.

Why would you do that to yourself? It's too stressful. Trust me, stress is not good for your health. 🙏

It would stress me out - heck it, the comments WERE already stressing me out but after the election? I knew I had to delete the account for my sanity and well being. But that's me.

I have the same and I was too afraid not to feel I’d engaged everyday. I haven’t been on X since 11/4/24, FB shortly after the 2020 election and only on Instagram a few times since 2020.

X was so bad for the day to day debilitating symptoms of my illness. I actually feel more empowered here and I still engage!

Whatever anyone does don’t read The Post article today about this very topic. I can’t remember the name but it was about the no resistance movement happening. I was actually offended which I normally ignore because of the source. My subscription ends in a few. Point: bias, no mandate, silence is a message, and no, you dumb ass I’m not accepting anything. But, mental illness or health requires far greater consideration and constraint than we all had in 16/20 and the drum beat needs to stop or they win.

I like to remind myself how many names, insults and rage came without my consent to be harassed but I did because I was logged on.

We all know this won’t be easy and how many times I asked MSM to stop his oxygen. It’s their fire to a large degree! This will be our stoic response versus a reptilian brain response this time. At least mine!!

Thanks for your sharing and to the MN!! Keep going!!!

Leave it to papers like the WA Post to spin our leaving as a bad reflection on us. If that is the case, why the constant discount offers after I terminated subscription? Hang in there. I am trying. 💙💙

As far as the Post piece goes (I dropped em too, so I go by the summary) one way to help build a resistance is to deny it exists, ignore it, hope it goes away, and then try to stop it after it’s too late. Simple.

Carol Stomberg,

Anxiety and depression are signs of the times. Those who fail to experience them to one degree or another, are simply not paying attention. I'm delighted you're back. Every thought carries limitless potential. Every thought expressed, bears miracles. I wish you every happiness.

I could have written you post. It’s a sad realization we have all come to accept since the election. But I strongly feel we’ve been too complacent and it’s time to stand up for our rights again—as our grandmothers did! ☮️
