What can he do? Start with some energized rallies. I like Jeffries, but he is too nice for this job right now. "Come together" is not going to cut it right now. I have no desire to come together with people who look the other way while Trump hands over Eastern Europe to Putin.

This used to be a thing when their reelection was on the line because people might not vote for them but in todayтАЩs world where Trump makes statements about Musk saying тАЬHe knows those computers better than anybody. All those computers. Those vote-counting computers. And we ended up winning Pennsylvania like in a landslide." - well we canтАЩt even be sure that they care about our votes.

I wrote my senator every day for the last couple weeks. Today we hear in a news bulletin that's she's joining Doge to help them root out waste. It's pretty discouraging; so how's everyone else doing with their letter writing/call campaigns.?

Call her and tell her you are not happy about her joining DODGE. The waste is DODGE and Elon's contracts. What about the waste in her Congressional office? Thank you for your work and efforts to contact your representative. Please keep it out and get your friends to help out too.

It has been said in many ways and by people who have worked in a SenatorтАЩs or CongresspersonтАЩs office that the best way to be a real influence is to call not write. Also, go to town halls. I am calling my Congressman every day I can. I have three numbers to his office to choose from. CALL YOUR SENATORS. Oh, and call your Congressperson.

I called and emailed Rep.Tom Kean, R-NJ. I get either a generic letter that doesn't address my issues or when I call they make excuses why he hasn't arranged a town hall. I also called and emailed Sen.Andy Kim, D-NJ and no response. Frankly, I'm disgusted with our country.

Did you ever see the movie The Shawshank Redemption? One of the key characters (played by Tim Robbins) was imprisoned for a murder he didn't commit, but he never lost hope; "Hope is a good thing," he would say.

When he got a work assignment in the prison library he wrote to the same person every day for many weeks (maybe years, I forget now, but it was a long time) asking to donate books to the library. He never got an answer until one day a load of books and records arrived with a response to his letters.

Please keep bugging your representatives every day. Demand answers to your questions. Make them worry they won't get reelected. Call them out on social media and demand a town hall. Hope IS a good thing, and so is persistence.

I am happy to say I live in New York. Senator Schumer tries but he just reads speeches. He needs to have some sort of feeling. Senator Gillibrand does help people but she needs to be more vocal on her stand against Trump. Governor Hochul just laid into Trump about being King. She has finally gotten fierce.

Please keep it up. I live in a very Dem leaning city and state. I attended a Town hall with our US Representative Pramila Jayapal.

She clearly asked us to contact friends who have GOP reps and keep the calls constant. And to find ways to tell the TRUTH. Misinformation continues. Thank you for activism.

Keep calling, keep writing, and keep working at the community and city level. BUT, we need our congressional leaders, and especially our selfish, silent Republican senators to stand up with us and use their power to speak out and act on defeating TrumpтАЩs Project 2025 agenda. We need the Democratic Party to identify a charismatic, strong leader NOWтЬМя╕П. ThatтАЩs what I call standing together to keep our country from being sold to Putin. Democracy Strong!

Jeffries comment to vote in the midterms in order to turn the legislation around is niave..too nice..the gop has hijacked our voter system. They simply ignore or manipulate counts, or suppress our vote. I won't stop voting, but I know it may be compromised. Remember during the election he promised to "fix" things so we would" never have to vote again "

There won't be a y elections. They also passed a bill that you need a birth certificate and a passport to vote. Married women's names won't match on both documents. So they won't be allowed to vote. The only thing I can think of is women go to their maiden name

Correct me if I am wrong but Democratic congress people have been protesting out in front of the departments that are getting cut.

They are the minority they do not have enough votes to change legislation, I see them protesting ont he floor of congress and also out in the streets.

They are all having Town Hall Meetings in their districts.

I think they are making the best of a bad situation.
