Thank you for saying that - as a German who has many US friends I have not a single one saying they agree with or support the orange felon, Musk, Vance, Thiel, and his sycophants. Germany has to do more to cooperate with NATO, but there is a historic reason why Germany, after the second WW, was pushed towards a very peaceful country that used to be sceptical when it comes to the military. That changes more and more, particularly after Russia started its war against Ukraine. Further, as someone who is very much interested in US culture I came (once again) across a song that may become more and more relevant IF Trump's regime is getting stronger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DGY9HvChXk
That is exactly why Ukraine was backed by Biden. A lot of the American people believed it was senseless to aid them because it’s “not our war.” They could never see the big picture…🥲
… Trump was asked about Wicker’s comments about Hegseth: “I haven’t heard that. I mean, Roger is a very good friend of mine, and Pete is doing a great job. So, I’ll speak to Roger. I’ll speak to Pete. I’ll find out.”
It is not productive to contact members of Congress that are not yours. Your comments do not concern them because you don't have any impact on their jobs, which is all they care about. If they're in a solid red state, a bunch of Blues contacting them will be ignored. Your comments may or may not be forwarded to your rep. If you want to do something productive rather than just feel-good with your time, contact your own members of Congress repeatedly.
I realize my remarks can be discouraging. They're meant to get people to look at the reality of the mess we're in rather than just making warm, fuzzy comments or wasting their time on stuff that doesn't make a difference. If you're doing something because your conscience demands it, that's one thing. If you want to do something that will have an effect outside yourself, you have to think differently. Ex: boycott Amazon. If it feels like the right thing to do, so it. If you think Bezos, with his 242,000,000,000 USD is going to miss a few million, think again.
And yes, consider the source. My grandparents' country was occupied by the Nazis. They were fortunate and got out before 25,000 of their fellow citizens were starved to death for resisting fascism. I have worked in D. C. as well as being an AUSA in a purple state. So perhaps I have a different mindset than many people here from both a practical and historical perspective.
Netherlands right, or Belgia? I live currently in Norway, which borders Russia, and is experiencing more frequent hybrid attacks. I have expat friendd from other nations, who remember WWII. I have lived/worked in other nations which were occupied, and still see remnants of the occupation in everyday settings. It makes for a more immediate mindset, as do my Ukrainian refugee friends...we have too fight as much as possible, even if sometimes overwhelmed and down for the count, temporarily.
Trump’s cult members weren’t smart enough to realize that last time. Maybe some of them will wake up; the rest will blame Biden and Obama because President Musk will tell them to.
This would trigger NATO Article 5, and I do not think that Russia can afford to have another frontline, irrespective of the US's likely abstention. After all, the UK and France are nuclear powers, and Russia's economy is already down the toilet - so another war would threaten Putin's survival (he does not care about Russia, but about his own and, perhaps to a certain extent, his family's well-being). However, if Ukraine is given up by the US, Putin will use his then renewed and increasing power to destabilise more and more countries of the EU. Hungary is essentially a Russian ally, the same seems to apply more and more to Slovakia even though there is more opposition than in Hungary. Also, most radical parties (in Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria,...) are very pro-Russian/Putin. I'd rather expect these countries to adopt Russian policies and lose strength as a Union, in the NATO, and this is cheaper and perhaps more effective than waging another war. However, on the short run, I do expect Russia to start another invasion of Ukraine from Belarus. That country is much closer to Kiev and the industry centres of Ukraine. Russia will try to get hold of Ukraine, because the current US administration will most likely abandon it, unfortunately and very, very sadly, blaming Zelensky for his refusal to accept Putin keeping the occupied territories, not returning the stolen children of Ukrainian parents, and not paying restitutions. Already, Trump has never condemned Putin, but rather Ukraine for the war...what do you expect?
Didn't Poland have an extensive training program in the early days of the war? Many civilians were taught how to use and care for rifles and other basic survival skills.
The Polish civilians did this because they didn't want a repeat of Sep 1, 1939.
I am not talking about Russia ‘s intent. I am talking about their ability to actually “roll” through Poland. Do you think Poland will just say “uncle”? And that the other Baltic states, Czechia and Finland will just watch?
While Poland is working on possessing a robust and modern military, the combined strength of Poland, Finland, and Czechia alone may not suffice to counter a full-scale Russian invasion. (Finnish military is ranked 48th globally and I think Czech Republic is 53rd; USA is ranked 1st, then China, then Russia). However, the strategic advantage lies in their NATO membership.
I don’t want to belabour this as a face to face conversation would be more constructive. Russia can’t even make it through Ukraine. And perhaps, more importantly, should Russians somehow make it through Ukraine and enter Poland, will Germany just stand by and worry about the Russians making it over their border or will you immediately come to Poland’s assistance?
You keep good company. There really is an amazing number of good people fighting this regime here in the US. Let’s hope we can build on it to get organized for the coming storm. Thankful we can rely on Meidas and so many other independents to show integrity and bring the truth.
Yes, we must not give up HOPE - tyrants hate almost nothing as much as their oppressed people's hope and unwillingness to surrender. Meidas is one of the most important sources of hope, I think.

I am slightly concerned that without the USA’s direct involvement, Russia will roll right into Poland and … right into us!!!! What are your thoughts ?
That is exactly why Ukraine was backed by Biden. A lot of the American people believed it was senseless to aid them because it’s “not our war.” They could never see the big picture…🥲
My feelings exactly. Isn’t that exactly what hitler did?
Yes, you are right. And that raised arm salute by musk was no accident. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Yup welcome to Hitler 2.0
Today Poland, tomorrow the world
Poland always gets screwed.
Whuut we too nice?
I heard Germany conquered Poland by marching in backwards and Polacks thought they were leaving.

It only takes a few.....
Civil coercsive comtempt may solve some problems. But Trump has capituated to a foreign power --
I worked in DC and in Miami and California...worked with some of those senators...and their spouses. Believe me, they see it.

@ Daniel Solomon ... Don't fret. Consider the source.
Those Americans who couldn’t see what could happen.. also couldn’t find their ass with both hands in a dark room
Zalenskyy said just this in his interview on Meet the Press today.
They complained about our helping Ukraine financially. Wait till they realize who is helping the RICH ONLY.
Trump’s cult members weren’t smart enough to realize that last time. Maybe some of them will wake up; the rest will blame Biden and Obama because President Musk will tell them to.
They are brainwashed to say that . But but but Biden, Obama, Hillary, that laptop of Hunters . Not us ,anybody else but us. Hypocrites

Let’s get down to BUSINESS. Great coffee talk.
I’m not so sure they’ll be able to just “roll right into Poland.”
They will, and with The Orange Turd's total blessing!
(Just a side note. Many of the Polish people in Chicago voted for the Turd.
I just can't understand why, especially if they lived through the years when the Soviet Union had control over Poland.)
Mary not dead yet?
Bullets still cheap.
It took Nazi Germany only a few DAYS to "conquer" Poland. We must be vigilant!
Didn't Poland have an extensive training program in the early days of the war? Many civilians were taught how to use and care for rifles and other basic survival skills.
The Polish civilians did this because they didn't want a repeat of Sep 1, 1939.
Unfortunately, I disagree. And I am not alone in feeling that this is a very real possibility.
I am not talking about Russia ‘s intent. I am talking about their ability to actually “roll” through Poland. Do you think Poland will just say “uncle”? And that the other Baltic states, Czechia and Finland will just watch?

I’m
Concerned as well !! Trump is acting on behalf of Putin’s wishes.
I am also very concerned. Trump and Musk and Vance are handing the US to Putin.
I think it’s way past time to be slightly concerned.
Get an Ar 15 they’re cheap !
Make it automatic!
Ask any red state asshole how to do that!
Then blast any Republican u see.
Three of them assholes in my family.
Oh well Civil war is going on right now.
It’s fucking war!
You gonna fight?
Kill em!
Or ur kids die.
We share your fear, Dana.
150000 troops are being amassed in Belarus. Maybe to invade Poland and the Baltics. Maybe to invade Kyiv.
Damm right get ur guns!
You keep good company. There really is an amazing number of good people fighting this regime here in the US. Let’s hope we can build on it to get organized for the coming storm. Thankful we can rely on Meidas and so many other independents to show integrity and bring the truth.

Wow. I had never heard that powerful ballad. She was amazing. Heaven help us all.
Have you heard Nina Simone's "Mississippi Goddam"?
Yes. She also said: "You have to learn to get up from the table when love is no longer being served."
Yess! Nina S, MS Goddamn!
Vielen Dank! We, who Think Critically (Some of US remember...) stand awestruck at the Realpolitik before us! Ich werde Mexikanisch sobald möglichst!
I would go Canadian. But, Mexico is beautiful.
