AOC,Jasmine Crockett,Maxwell Frost !! Ben,please have them on Meidas !
Thanks,Meidas/Ron Filipkowski for this….😂
Rep. Jasmine Crockett responded to a post by a DOGE account claiming that she has a net worth of $9 million: “These people either have no relationship with the truth or really are dumber than bricks or both. I know one thing is true - they are intimidated, otherwise they wouldn’t waste their time trying to come up with outlandish stories. PLEASE POST the tax assessor links to my lavish cribs. I need to see the addresses and see if these people will give me keys since the properties are mine lol. I see y’all have dropped the fake husband scandal. Next I guess y’all will make up some kids and baby daddies - can’t let your feeble leader be the only one with a bunch of ex wives and baby mommas!”
He and Hawley are allegedly mountain an assault against banks and interest rates. Good but, I can't unsee Josh Hawley running for cover on JAN6 with his fist in the air supporting the attack on the Capitol. The bone I have to pick with Bernie is how his wife bankrupted a private school and got away with it.
So, I think they're trying to "do something" to get into the good graces of folks like us or keep the allegiance of others who believe in them.
Unfortunately, right now we need a leader who is a white, Christian male. As much as I think Biden was a truly great president, in hindsight, his biggest mistake was selecting a black woman as vice president. I loved Kamala. She would have been a terrific president but there are still too many bigots in this country who either voted for trump because they hated the idea of a woman president, especially a black woman or sat the election out for the same reason. I believe if Bidens VP pick had been a man, trump would have lost. I think it will be decades before another presidential candidate selects anyone as VP who is not white, Christian and male. It boggles my mind that Mexico can have a woman president, Germany did, Israel did in the 50s, even India did and yet the US is still stuck in the 19th century
yes, that's a huge problem. And the republicans are making sure they stay that way, cutting education funding, injecting religion into education and constantly inciting fear of anything that is not white, Christian and straight.
Interesting take. This white male patriarchal society is one reason we're in the cooking pot right now. I believe the winds of change are about and it's high time we stop looking for a white guy to "save" America. I'd go for a bunny rabbit if s/he had the moxy to get this Titanic 2.0 mess back on track.
I wish I was wrong with my take. Women leaders for the most part have been very effective, going back to the golden age of queen elizabeth l but right now there’s this wave of mysogeny going on in America that has turned a lot of young white men into crude women hating assholes. They want to go back to the dark ages where women were nothing more than unpaid servants with no rights. Re the white thing, undeniably whites men have been responsible for a large percentage of the world’s modernization. But could it be because POC and women weren’t given the chance to do likewise?
I completely agree with most of what you're saying, except regarding Biden's biggest mistake. His biggest mistake was not keeping his promise to be a one-term bridge President. That could and should have been addressed by the Dem leadership on 21 January 2021, so that in 2023 there would have been a real convention with an elected nominee for President. However, if Biden's hypothetical male VP had become the appointed nominee, you could indeed be right that he would have been elected.
I do think you are correct about electing a woman President now. While many Americans are open to a woman President, America (= Electoral College) is not. And that's the reality we have to deal with unless and until the Electoral College is gone. I hope if there is another election that the Dems will put aside their ridiculous loyalty/legacy mindset and nominate someone who can win.
I’d forgotten about the one term promise. Yes, that was a huge error on his part. He left the democrats with no time to pick a viable candidate and run an aggressive campaign.
We have many brave leaders in the House and the Senate, in independent media, in legal defense coalitions... WE THE PEOPLE MUST STAND UP. Looking for someone to "save us" is not a winning position.
And this welcoming every one is among the reasons the Blues were defeated. What do you think most Americans care more about: feeding/clothing/housing their families or provided gender-affirming treatment for prisoners?
If you think the right results "in a gradual loss of campers," you haven't been paying attention for the last 4 years. Trump got more votes in 2024 -- and more votes from groups that used to lean Blue -- than he did in his previous runs.
Both, I would hope. We can show compassion to all, can’t we?
King Donald is making you choose, which is divisive.
Yes he did get more votes, but the backlash to Covid, high prices and Me Too was widespread and not particular to the US.
In Canada, where I am, the rightwing party was all in on Rump, until our citizens got a look at the cruelty and chaos. Now they can’t run away fast enough. Better late than never I guess. We have a federal election coming in the spring, and the polls are swinging rapidly back to the status quo, the centre left. Best, Ter
It's likely Kamala actually won, but she was stuck with the "honorable" Democrat syndrome. It's a shitty (I could think of worse words, believe me!) situation we are in because of "honor" but if they had questioned the "integrity" of the election we would have been in Limbo. Catch 22...
no. not michelle. We'd have the same issue as with Kamala, actually probably worse. Same thing with Gayle's list below. Sadly, as much as many of these people are highly qualified, America doesn't seem to be ready to vote for a woman, or another black candidate. Obama was enough to send them over the edge which is why i believe Trump got elected in the first place. I really like Josh Shapiro. He's a man who gets things done. He'd be a terrific president. But he's Jewish. This country is full of bigots who would not vote for him simply because he's Jewish. I actually wish Andrew Cuomo would run. He was watched all over the world during covid. It ticks me off that his career got blown up because of the harassment thing, especially when EVERYONE knows that Trump is essentially a rapist. what's a little harassment compared to that? He would not only be a terrific president, he's a man that wouldn't let MAGA intimidate him.
Couldn't agree with you more, except about Shapiro. As bad as Harris was, I think had Shapiro been the VP, the Blues would have won the election. I have no idea who actually chose Walz, but he was most definitely the wrong choice. He brought nothing to the team and weakened it with his lies. And yes, they were lies. But then, I think Shapiro also lied . . . Guess that's just the reality of being a pol: you have to be a liar to even get in the door.
Hmm. Hard to say about Shapiro. Right now there is so much antisemitism. I don’t get it, really. If I had to rate a Jew against what passes for Christian these days and human kindness, willingness to be tolerant and intellectual curiosity were the measure, the Jew would come out on top every time.
Yes, the lying tends to be endemic in politics but the democrats lies seem to be pretty tame compared to the republicans which are toxic and in so many cases, outright dangerous.
You're so right about the quantity and quality of the lies. But MAGA seems to relish Blues getting caught lying about anything and use it to their advantage. Why the Blues feel the need to lie about some of the stuff they do is beyond me, but it's out there and it will be used to their detriment. Were I picking a candidate, one of the first things I'd ask is what have they lied about so it could be addressed immediately rather than trying to do damage control at critical times during the campaign.
What a great idea. It seems like a big part of democrats problem is they are forward thinking, naturally, which makes them idealists but also makes them naive. I’m like that. I get caught all the time by lies or dishonesty or outright criminality and it’s because, I would never do that kind of things so I’m shocked when other people do. I think democrats tend to be a bit like that. Remember when Michelle Obama said, when they go low, we go high? That’s what I’m talking about and that is so naive. The Republicans are laughing all the ways to being elected when we do that. I say bullshit. Sadly, we need to get down in the trenches and be willing to fight a little dirty
Thanks for bringing up Michelle's remark. Sounds lovely, very principled, and for a millionaire/connected person like Michelle, it's great. Doesn't work for the ordinary American who doesn't have that padding of money and influence.
That philosophy doesn't work in today's political climate. The republicans are prepared to lie, cheat, steal, and probably kill, to win elections. to think we can defeat them by playing nice is, as i said, naive.
Kill -- yes. I'm sure you remember the gallows for Pence as well as the domestic terrorists who killed the police officers at the Capitol. And don't forget the thugs who wanted to kill Dem members of Congress. Moreover, if they're taking their cues from Putin's playbook, expect to see a rise in the number of people falling out of windows . . .
She's done her duty and says she no longer considers herself a "public person" which supposedly is the reason she skipped former President Carter's funeral. After what she, Barack, and their daughter went through as they tried to represent all of us I don't blame her for sitting this fight out.
I like AOC but as a senior citizen I think Jamie Raskin or Sheldon White House also speak to my generation. I think we need both, moderate and Progressive voices.
You're in the right place for truth, transparency and leadership. Don't despair. There's more going on behind the scenes than what is publicly known. Hang tough. Never give up!
The Blues don't have a leader. The Blues lost when the Dems went with loyalty to the arrogant, egotistical Biden instead of demanding he step down as the "bridge" President he promised he'd be. The Blues scorn the loyalty of Trump's base, but then the Blues get Jill Biden knocking Nancy Pelosi for saying Biden needs to go because Pelosi and the Bidens were friends for more than 20 years. So the good of the country was supposed to take a back seat to loyalty to Joe. Yes, the election still could have gone to Trump, but the Blues would have had a far better chance with an elected nominee rather than an appointed one.
We need a leader! Kamala went crickets. So did Liz. We are running out of time to get the ship corrected.

Bernie!
I'm a Vermonter and got word that he's going out on tour this week!
My sister lives in Vermont! Canadians are embedded all through the US.
We really think (thought) of the US as family, until Trump shivved us.
Making connections through communities like this, is how we win!
Stronger together!
Yes half of my family lives in the USA and has done for generations. This turd came along and tried to destroy us. America, you can’t let him. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Spot on!
Watch Bernie Sanders rallies from this weekend. MAGA Republicans don’t have a plan they just revolt against what the decency that Democrats want.
He’s just the other side of tRump.
I disagree. He fights for the working class. He's independent but progressive and recognizes the underlying problem with the money going to the top.
He and Hawley are allegedly mountain an assault against banks and interest rates. Good but, I can't unsee Josh Hawley running for cover on JAN6 with his fist in the air supporting the attack on the Capitol. In an angel/devil kind of way?
If he's got a reputation of being a voice of the people, why wouldn't we want him shouting from the rooftops right now??? Why would that hurt?

Sadly too many racists, white trash , uneducated.
yes, that's a huge problem. And the republicans are making sure they stay that way, cutting education funding, injecting religion into education and constantly inciting fear of anything that is not white, Christian and straight.
Agree.
Don't forget Canada! The Honourable Kim Campbell.
Oh, forgot about her. yes, add her to the list.
Add England to the list 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Yes! See, what the hell is wrong with the US that they are so backwards. I forgot about the Iron Maiden.

Plus our left leaning tent always has it's flap open. We welcome every one.
The right kind of limits entry to their tent, resulting in a gradual loss of campers!
We've got this!
Love Canada

Agree. I am very annoyed at Kamala’s inaction during the vote counting when some results seemed suspect and now. Very disappointing!

Point well taken.
We can still pull Michelle up.

yes, between the anti-vaxxer thing, the regulations designed to protect workers being pulled and your thought, expect the death toll to rise.

I'm a co inventor of the Internet.

I've got a new Outernet idea Sam Altman hopefully helping me.
